It has been announced on BRB's website that Elisha Willis is retiring at the end of the season. As well as her creation of the role of Cinderella in David Bintley's production I would also mention her creation of Roxanne in David Bintley's re-make of Cyrano for BRB and as Eurydice in Orpheus Suite. Prior to this, she trained at the Paris Opera Ballet School. She danced with Le Ballet de Lorraine from 2003 to 2004 and was a member of The Junior Ballet Classique du Conservatoire de Paris between 2002 and 2003. She joined Scottish Ballet in winter 2004, and was promoted to Coryphée in July 2011. Oh .... I'd only looked at the performances I've got booked. I wonder if I could stay on for the Friday night ... or drive back down for the Saturday night!!!

There's no real information on the website but I understand that usually there are costumes to view and a dancer putting on their makeup as well as colouring activities for younger children. When I've arrived to see a matinee when there has been a family day there are usually lots of smiling families, if that is any help.

Gosh Lachlan Monaghan in the Hamlet role created by Robert Parker! Mathias Dingman is an obvious choice for this role and what an opportunity for young Lachlan too.

I know it's not long off but have the group tried going round local businesses. Our local Tescos often has bag-packers collecting for funds e.g. for the guides or a local dance school. When the local dance school were doing it they also did a little showpiece in the foyer.

I'm on our Estate's Residents' Association and we have given small grants to a couple of youngsters going on expeditions recently.

Everything crossed you get the funding.

Presented at a ceremony in London yesterday, we were nominated alongside The Royal Ballet and Lost Dog. The awards will be televised on Sky Arts at 8pm on Wednesday 8 June. Quite agree with that one Hudds! Mind you I've seen women dressed inappropriately wandering around before now! I went on holiday to Egypt in 1983. There were 2 young ladies on the trip who had never been further than Spain before. Our hotel in Cairo was on top of an apartment block and only the top floor had balconies (which really didn't matter to us because with so much to explore we were unlikely to want to sunbathe). The 2 young ladies were somewhat disappointed not to have a balcony and the hotel receptionist had to stop them walking out into the streets of Cairo in bikinis! They were moved to a room with a balcony and spent a whole day sitting there, ending up like a pair of boiled lobsters. The day we went on the organised trip to the Pyramids they took their t-shirts off on arrival, revealing skimpy bikini tops beneath. Every camel owner in Egypt descended on them within 10 seconds!!! It was fine when we were on the cruise.
