Elisha Willis is retiring from BRB
Jan McNulty replied to Jan McNulty's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
Looking forward to seeing Elisha in Shrew on Thursday! -
I was at the performance on Friday evening, led by Erina Takahashi and Yonah Acosta. It is the first time I have seen this production and I just loved it. I have to say that I didn't feel an emotional connection with Odette/Odile & Siegfried but probably because I was overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the production. I think Derek Deane has created it so cleverly to make use of the amazing venue and dance space. We were sitting on row 3 of the stalls near where the chairs are during the party scene and I thought they were great. My view wasn't impeded by any of the dancers during the action. I'd love to go and see it again next time it is on and perhaps go higher up to see the patterning of the swans from a different perspective. I love this review from member To the Pointe: http://tothepointemagazine.wix.com/tothepointemagazine#!Its-Swan-Magic-at-English-National-Ballet/cmbz/575f04450cf29542aa26e0e5

Just bumping this up to remind people. The London dates may be a nice alternative to the Bolshoi! -

Well I was wearing mine on Saturday! Where were everyone else's??? In their bag in one case!!! -
As far as I am aware another sink hole has not happened. They are checking the repairs from the sink hole last year and have closed the road for 2 days. The sink hole last year was enormous and it took a great deal of planning and work to correct it. Rather this than the road collapse again!

Queen's birthday lunch - Mall photo
Jan McNulty replied to RK Martin's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
What's in the hamper? The hamper was put together by Marks and Spencer and contains: "Best of British" sandwiches Pembrokeshire chicken roulade with Wye Valley asparagus and minted Cornish potato salad Scottish Smoked Salmon mousse with hot and cold Sandringham oak-smoked Lochmuir salmon Cornish Cove mature cheese and Red Leicester with Scottish seeded oatcakes Mini piccalilli pork pie I was in the M&S on Long Acre yesterday and they had piles of hampers that looked just like those on the tables. I don't know if they were for sale and only realised when I saw these pictures what they were. -
I picked this up via Facebook. Three masterclasses are listed: Michaela DePrince - 18th July 1300-1430 - Age 14+ Ivan Putrov - 20th July 1300-1430 - Age 18+ Dominic Antonucci - 22nd July 1300-1430 - Age 16+ The advertisement does not state required standard as far as I can see. http://danceworks.net/summer-ballet-masterclasses/

Well they've already got one! And maybe now he will get a chance at Romeo. Having seen him in that role at BRB I can confirm that he is the epitome of Romeo! -
I suspect the offer of the contract could be withdrawn.
