  1. I wrote to Nike van Schie about this film and have had the reply below. We are aiming to give the film a wider theatrical release, so please keep an eye on our website and social media for any updates. Thank you again for your interest in this film and we hope you enjoy it when you get to see it. All best wishes, Nike Nike van Schie
  2. I agree with Fiona, they should make it available in a much wider range of cinemas - we don't all live near London. I would love to see it at the cinema near me which shows all the Live screenings from ROH.
  3. Many thanks for this pdf - it used to be available for each booking period and is very useful if you are sending out information for friends you book for. It seems to been lost since the web site was upgraded. Margaret
  4. Thank you Jan for your report on Hobson's Choice, it's a long time since I saw it at Sadler's Wells. I watched the DVD I have of this ballet - had forgotten how much fun it was! This was the one with Michael O'Hare as Will Mossop and his brother as one of the Salvation Army.
  5. Thanks for the link to the seasons, I had lost it also, so very useful.
  6. Yes the casting is there, but not where it usually was listed. If you look at the page of dates for Coppelia the cast is listed under each date, near the red button 'not on sale/see prices'. I missed it myself as it used to be listed at the side after you clicked on a particular date. Hope that helps Linda.
  7. Congratulations to Marcelino - well deserved. He was a wonderful Romeo when I went to see Romeo and Juliet. Also loved him as Hans Peter In the Nutcracker, on both occasions with Anna Rose O'Sullivan - fantastic.
  8. I have used the pdf for sending out information to the friends I book for, but did notice what I think is an error. The Manon on Thursday 17th Oct is listed on the pdf as 1.30, but is 7.30pm on the web. I would imagine the website is correct? Thanks for posting the pdf, it made life a lot easier for me and many others. It is still not on the website!
  9. Disappointed with the information (or lack of it) for the coming season. Managed to find a list of ballets - checked pricing, but id does not work correctly. This season the 'not on sale - more information' button lead to a Pricing Plan. You could click on a price range and then an individual price to see what seats are available (coloured red) - doesn't seem to work now! I hope more information is available later- I used to find the listings of what is one and when for each booking very useful. I did find my way to the old calendar - there seem to be a few mistakes - the concerto/enigma/raymonda is listed twice for each appearance!
  10. Thank you Lizbie1, I've just found it - had to go to tickets and events and then to ballet before I could see the option. Much better, but still not as good as before!
  11. My PC is still showing the large pictures - how can I change to the one you are describing?
  12. I've just looked at the new site - what a mess!!! I used the calendar, and could just about see something underneath the calendar window. Eventually I found a link to the summer ballets, glad I have done my summer booking through Friends. Why can't they leave well alone?
  13. I also received the survey from the ROH. I agree with other posters, that the options given were very odd indeed, but I did find a place where I could comment on the price increases for ballet, especially for matinees.
  14. Thank you cavycapers, for the timings - I did check and the Friends magazine stipulated the shorter time. I'll just have to see how it goes on the night, may have to miss the last ballet if it runs that late.
  15. I booked for this mixed bill as the Friends magazine gave a running time of 2hrs 15 mins, which meant I could get a train back at 10.40pm. I hope that is correct or I am going to find it a very long journey home. Having read the post by Floss, I am now a bit concerned!
  16. I could not find anything on the site when I looked and had to email via the website. I was sent the pdf of the Mayerling cinema cast sheet. It is now on the site if you haven't found it already. https://www.roh.org.uk/showings/mayerling-live-2018 Margaret
  17. I too have had a reply to my email about the Lucy Sinclair issue, along the same lines as others. I also queried the pricing of some of the ballets, particularly about the change in prices for matinees (which are now the same as evening performances). The example I gave was the increase from £59 for the front row of the amphi for Nutcracker to £85 for R & J. Even if you compare evening prices, there is still an increase of approx 14% . I hope this might make the ROH think and change, but I doubt it.
  18. I've just caught up with this topic and I am as annoyed as you are - particularly as I have brought quite a few new people to the ROH and brought many tickets on their behalf. I agree with the comments of Penelope - not a good move by the ROH, who should learn from this.
  19. I too received this booklet about the Linbury season. It was a bit late as booking had already opened several days before, so not able to send the information to the friends I book for. Still, better late than never! Margaret
  20. For me, the slow movement of Concerto would be my dream part. It is one of my favourite ballets and I have a much watched DVD with Nunez and Pennefather - so beautiful.
  21. I do agree with Annamk about Reece Clarke - such a lovely line as she says and he performed the solos beautifully. He is obviously one to watch and I will look forward to seeing him next season. I saw both Monday's matinee and the cinema live stream and thought Hirano's Lescaut was very good, maybe a bit over the top in the drunken dance, but full of character. As usual Gary Avis was superb - such a wonderful dance/actor. Margaret
  22. A great evening at the opera house. I was very moved by the Ferri and Bonelli performance and agree with Anna's description. It brought back memories of the first performance I ever saw of this ballet - 1965 - with Fonteyn and Nureyev, an evening I have never forgotten. Obsidean Tear was also good, though I think I also missed some of what was happening, again as Anna said. There was so much going on, but the view from the amphi was good. I think I would need to see it again to appreciate it fully. It was great to finish with Elite Syncopations, wonderful cast and that includes the musicians, especially Robert Clarke!
  23. I managed yesterday to get the seating plan for ballet in the Autumn and check out prices. Now it seems to have disappeared - if I go on to the Mayerling listing, all is gives me is a 'not on sale' notice opposite each date. I'm sure it had a link to the seatingplan/pricing before and I had made a note of the layout and prices for each of the programmes. Margaret
  24. My first memory of Nureyev is when he danced Marguerite and Armand with Fonteyn in 1965 - a performance I have never forgotton. Later I saw him and Fonteyn in Sleeping Beauty with my mother and other family members - she said 'he can't be that good' but later said 'oh yes he is'! My last performance was at the Coliseum, where he danced in his version of Romeo and Juliet with Ruanne. Some wonderful memories of a great artist.
