  1. How funny... I wonder what his director had to say ?
  2. Tring first years wear socks too .
  3. Well done! It's a stressful time. I bet you are glad it is over.
  4. Two of the current third years have been given contracts for ENB
  5. Good luck every one! I hope you are all a lot calmer than I was when dd was going through this process. She was definitely calmer than me!
  6. Hi all, If you are thinking of getting tickets for this production , I would do it sooner rather than later. I went to book some the other day and was shocked by how many had been sold already. Last year I tried to buy tickets to see'secret Garden' but was too late. Glad I got some this year. This is obviously going to appeal .....
  7. The trouble I is they audition the kids for their dancing, not singing and a third of them are not full time students anyway..... Not to mention some ill with a virus ( inuding my dd) that precluded singing. Very young children used this year including a 7 and 8 year old!
  8. The current young Clara is in 3rd form , the first cast Clara in second form. They are not using older girls as the older children are focussing on their academics. I agree the story works better if the girls look old enough to teem burgeoning passion. Young Freddie's were from 1st and 2nd form this year. I think this works well as my lad looked a bit tall last year. ( he was just about to embark on a huge growth spurt and grew 7 inches in as many months. Insane!) The current child cast has some very young dancers in it and I love that diversity. The age variations make it look like a real party IMHO. Only a few performances to go! My little girl will be too tall next year ( she already looks tall in this cast) so I will probably have my first normal Christmas after seven consecutive Nutcrackers .
  9. When mine auditioned I wrote to accept the offer of the funding audition and said I would pay once that was over. I never had a problem any of the 4 times
  10. I got to see mine do floor barre... Getting back to dance finally after the traumas of the past few months!
  11. Well done to those with a 'yes' for finals... One step closer A big hug to those with a 'no'... We all know what that feels like . . Good luck for future auditions.
  12. Interesting that they said that as they never mentioned anything like that when my dd auditioned 2 years ago... She has an April birthday. It is true it can be daunting being away in London at a young age but they seem to cope. Perhaps being away at vocational school for 5 years beforehand fosters independence. Good luck to all who are auditioning for ENBS. My daughter is very happy with the school.
  13. Any other forum members at Dance Attic with their DCs next Sunday? I will be there with my 14 year old ds. Thought it might be a chance to meet some forum members.
  14. I agree with all above... Except the meringues have shrunk in size in the 9 or so years we have had anything to do with lcb
  15. Re needing to sing and act for Tring. For dance course you only have to do the dancing. The rest is optional to show if you might be suitable for Theatre Arts. I know people who only danced and who got called back for the mds audition. Tell your dd not to panic. If she doesn't want to do it at Tring, she doesn't have to. My dd did have to do it at her Hammond audition 6 years ago though.
  16. My girls wore Leo's that would draw the eye... For good or bad... Because of the colour.. My favourite was the old aquamarine pop Leo. My dd loves the sansei Leo recommended by Spanner. She has the black one.
  17. When my lad did kick start years ago only the older ones did singing. He loved it... But it was that the got us on the roller coaster... If only I'd known !
  18. Good luck to everyone starting associates. Happy times. My children and I made great friends along this journey through associate classes:)
  19. My lad used a white and black rucksack... Don't think they minded about bags. Hope ur sister is enjoying the excitement of getting ready.
