  1. Tring is offering a workshop day pn the 30th June for dancers aged up to 16. The price for the day (if booked before the end of April) costs just £20 to include workshop, tea on the lawn and a ticket to see the Tring Park Senior Dance Shhow Gala at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre. seems really good value
  2. Having had years of dealings with the school, I know that they would only have not have a child board if the child were unhappy or deemed to be a danger to themselves or others. It's disappointing that your daughter is unable to enjoy the rest of the course but it will have been deemed for the best. I hope you had happy girlie time together and perhaps it will work out better another year.
  3. I don't know about dadas at Tring but mds pupils still have to pay the deposit .
  4. Was shocked by numbers at coliseum yesterday eve... So poorly attended my balcony seats were upgraded to dress circle! Lovely dancing and the sets were superb. I felt the score was a bit repetitive. First time I have seen BRB dance. Standouts for me were the genie and Beandon Lawrence .
  5. Last year there were 2 or three finals groups of girls and just one group of boys. I remember being surprised by the number of girls who came from all over the world: Australia, Spain France and Norway, to name just a few. Good luck to ur dd. I remember the stress of waiting for the letter all too well.
  6. Last year they took 12 girls and 12 boys for first year. A mixture of British and international students.
  7. You could accept then withdraw later... There are lots of littl'uns who would happily snap up the place later
  8. Yes about 5 girls in year 4 got a place when my daughter started.
  9. Lovely to start my Sinday off by reading your happy news. Well done to you and to your dd klaris. I'm sure she will love Rambert. I love the promotional DVD on their website. Looks fab!
  10. Watch out for the lad Joseph Sissens who got commended. He was at Tring till 18 months ago. He is in year 11 at wl but is only yr 10 age. He is a real talent and I predict a future winner of this competition .
  11. Good luck to the students at English National Ballet School who have their ballet and variations assessments tomorrow and their pas de deux assessment later in the week. Thinking of you all x
  12. I think the new dadas will be unworkable for most families.... And I agree, sadly, the only way for the powers that be to realise this is for the schools to tell them first choice candidates are unable to take up places...assuming, that is, that the powers that be care enough!
  13. At Tring last year some, not all, of the students on mds were advised that they could keep them through 6th form. There aren't that many on mds anyway. Everyone else had to audition for dada along with everyone else, both non mds kids from school and candidates from outside.
  14. Tring year 10... Assbly 8 am academics 8.30 til 12.15/12.30 . Warm up 1.20 and dance class vocational shortly after till 6. 30. Prep after tea till about 8.30/8.45
  15. Elmhurst has a comprehensive and specific form to be completed with blood pressure/weight/chest sounding and all sorts. We photocopied it and sent the photocopy to the other school and they were happy with that. ENB's form was similar to the Elmhurst one I seem to remember.
  16. Well done to those with good news from London today .
  17. I wonder if they are doing them in order of audition date and whether they look at London 1 and 2 at the same time. First London audition was almost 2 weeks before the Manchester one balletDad....our nerves are shorter than yours... Let's hope we all hear soon.
  18. Still awaiting London news from the 13th Jan.
  19. Yes it is possible. My daughter had a no for WL finals but was given a mids place. Having said that, I think they have culled the number of mids places since then. Good luck to those waiting for associate places.
  20. Kids bounce back so quickly...glad to hear your dd back to her happy self. I echo what you say about JAs and remembering the feelings of those who have disppointed this week. I think we should also spare a thought ...those who are waiting to hear of post year 7 places...for where these places come from. These come at a cost to another little dancer who may have their dreams shattered. There could be some worried children and parents out there who find it hard to share in all the (natural) excitement. Wishing all the ballet students facing important assessments over the next couple of weeks all the very best of luck!
  21. Well done to all who have been invited to finals , commiserations to those with ' nos' and nerves of steel to those still waiting!
  22. At least those letters tend to come within a week!
  23. Welcome to the Forum. I have children studying at Tring and can echo Tulip's comments about it being welcoming. Your daughter will soon settle right in. My ds will be in year 10 next year. If you want to ask anything feel free to pm me.
