    The scholarships and recipients are listed in the, I think it is Julys edition, Dancing Times. Dd has done the audition twice in York and enjoyed it. Not majorly challenging I think.

    Both my boys begged me to go with Dd and I to watch BRBs Cinderella. They were 14 and 12. We sat in the front row and never having seen male dancers close up I warned them that if they sniggered they would be in the car ! They were mesmerised and straight after asked to join their sisters ballet class. I held off for a month to test their desire. Their teacher was so supportive and although Ds1 retired after his intermediate exam to go to university, Ds2 will be joining his sister at Elmhurst in September. Starting at 12 has been tough but hard work, determination and a bit of luck paid off. Let him have a go ???? He has nothing to lose and so much to gain x

    Just a thought !! Rugby union premiership teams are only allowed to play so many non British players in their team. Maybe British ballet companies should consider this. Then there would be more British ballet company jobs for British students. Each British ballet company, as in rugby, would be allowed one marquee player/dancer ! Any thoughts ???

    My Ds has been offered a 6th form place at Elmhurst ! We are overwhelmed ! It was his 4th attempt. Determination paid off ! Good luck to all waiting for results and don't give up. Dreams do come true ????

    I haven't had a life for 4 years ! I've done 3 lots of finals now and have another year to go yet for Dd and Ds ! How did this happen ? Lol ! What is it about ballet that is so addictive ?

    I feel that it all depends of what kind of dancer your Dd wants to be and whether that particular school would give her the training to achieve that. We tend to look at the graduate destinations and teaching faculty. We are on our second time finals for sixth form for Ds and will do it all again next year with Dd and Ds more than likely ???? The only advice I have for mine is to not apply for somewhere you don't want to go and that will not give you the career you want.

    When Dd did it at the end of year 8 she was put in the middle group, A2. Then last year at the end of year 9 she was put in the older group, A1. I think it was based on the scholarship audition. X

    My advice would be to contact the school that you have auditions for and ask their finance dept. They may well let you put in a change of circumstances form so you can be recalculated but you may not be able to do that until after the first year ???? Worth a try and good luck ! X

    A parent last year asked the question about whether his Dd had to do A levels and was told that they did. There is quite a choice ! A current parent maybe able to help you more or if you wait until my Ds auditions on Wednesday I will ask ????

    Yes, two A levels. There is a reasonable choice of subjects available, not all academic, and others I believe negotiable. That is what we were told last year at the auditions ????

    Well done Peanut68's rugby playing Ds. Both my Ds's and Dd played rugby and did ballet. At 15, Ds's rugby mates all went to watch him in Matthew Bournes Lord of the Flies ! He has done GCSE dance, doing A level dance and is an RBS SA and has had amazing support from them. Times are changing ????

    Research the Nutribullet. They are fab ! Wouldn't get anything else. It blends everything, even nuts into a smooth drink. But a GP and nutritionalist are essential. Dd had blood tests etc before a plan was recommended.

    Dd has a Nutribullet when at home. There are lots of different recipes. There are also lots of supplements available via GP on prescription. You should really be guided by a nutritionalist. ????

    In the boys Tring funding audition there were some Tring year 11's !

    Ruth Brill of BRB I believe was Tring / ENBS. Happy mum, i believe that our DDs attend the same school. I would speak to her ballet teacher about her training if I were you. Or if you just need a listening ear, pm me ????

    There is no money up front at Elmhurst if offered an MDS place. Just the £250 deposit for the formal uniform. Fees are calculated over the summer and invoices sent out at the beginning of each term ????
