    I am told that the DaDa guidelines stipulate that to qualify for funding the dancers have to attend an audition altogether. If some have been offered places prior to the final auditions then they must be self funding.

    My husband and l drove for 4 hours to watch our Dd perform a class and a solo in a ballet competition. After the performance Dd asked her dad if her leg was too parallel and not turned out enough at the finish ? His reply was " I don't know, l had my eyes shut for the whole thing ! " ???? The last time he watched her dance she had made a real hash of it, so this time he said he just couldn't watch ???? Don't beat yourself up ! Us parents make so many sacrifices for our children. Just make the most of it, blink and its gone ????

    ENBS told us that results were 1 to 2 weeks then they emailed everyone 2 days later. So hopefully you won't have to wait too long ????

    My Dd didn't make finals for WL in year 7 but was offered a Mids place. Chin up and keep going xx

    I don't think the schools director attended any of the preliminary auditions ???? Not the case for the other schools we visited.

    Dd destroyed 2 pairs of flatties. Canvas is better. We kept them too as a momento ????

    The 3 hour mini bus transfer from Marrakech to Dar Danse was a little concerning but now I believe you can fly into Essarouria which is only 45 minutes away. The year we went Dd did 2 weeks at YBSS which left her tense and deflated. A highly competitive environment with little personal attention. Dar Danse was the total opposite, nurturing, supportive, went right to the heart of dance and what she was there for. We left as they say with a little bit of " the bubble" in our hearts. The only other time we have felt that is at MBS and OPES. It all depends on what you are looking for x

    Dd and I went in 2015 after she won a scholarship. It was the best summer school she has ever attended. Amazing teachers, beautiful setting. Dd was at the end of year 9 at the time, there were a few that were at the end of year 8 but no younger. The oldest was 16. There were 20 girls split into two groups. Full days of ballet, rep and body conditioning. I think there is an old thread on this that may help you x

    There were 10, if I remember correctly, in the year 6 class. Boys and girls. 3 boys did both and my Dd. 3 boys and my Dd went to Elmhurst, one boy to WL and two girls to Hammond. My Ds did extended associates at Elmhurst and SAs and is now in Elmhurst 6th form. I would say it was definitely worthwhile for us. Good luck x

    You can do both. My Dd auditioned for both for year 6 and was successful. They only did ballet then, I think they may have extended the program now but I'm not 100% sure. Year 4/5 together and then year 6. There are opportunities for workshops and an Easter intensive at Elmhurst too.

    My Dd did associate classes 5 years ago. They are held at Lipson Community College on a Sunday. So they don't clash with Totnes RBS on a Saturday. Auditions are usually in May time at Lipson. Details should be on their website. X

    I have a Dd in the lower school on an MDS and a Ds in 6th form on a DaDa. I would be happy to answer any questions. We too were worried about the accommodation costs but they bring it all together, as with the MDS, into one payment. In fact, on the same income for last year, we contributed more towards the MDS than the DaDa. It's still expensive but they do also offer extra financial support.

    Malvern Ballet Seminars is excellent ! Four days from the 10th April, residential or non residential. Fantastic teaching, location and atmosphere. DD going again this year ????

    I posted Dds application on the 25th October and got an email with a prelim date 3 days later. It might depend on which audition date you chose ??

    This is my 3rd experience of US auditions, and hopefully my last ???? Dd has 2 this side of Xmas and the rest after. Prelims for us will be over by Jan 23rd ???? See you all there and good luck ????
