06:00 Rumpelstilzchen: Ballet Boyz (Jane Horrocks, Tanya Reynolds and John Marquez)
07:20 Balletboyz: Them/Us
14:00 Cirque du Soleil: Delirium (repeated from Tuesday)

Tuesday 9th August
06:00 The Metamorphosis: Arthur Pita (Edward Watson and Corey Annand)
08:00 Cirque du Soleil: Kooza

Wednesday 10th August
01:00 The South Bank Show: Carlos Acosta (just in case you missed it)
01:55 Why Do We Dance? To Tell Stories (just in case you missed it the last time around)

I am also really enjoying Alred Hitchcock Presents. Nothing to do with dance but superb. The cast is a real who's who of the period.

Shows how long it's been since any ballet was shown on TV. I had to go back 3 pages before finding the link and even the ballet I'm posting is an often repeat.

SkyArts Wed 7th Sept 7am Giselle. Stock photo of Osipova/Acosta but could just as easily be Nunez/Muntagirov.

Akram Khan's Giselle

BBC 4 Sun 18 Sep 2022  20:00

Let's hope it doesn't get postponed due to the BBC's extreme compliance with the mourning suggestions- the funeral is likely to be the next day.

On Monday SkyArts is scheduled to show The Royal Ballet in Cuba again (7.25)

Sky Arts Sun 18 Sep 6:50am

(I think - annoyingly Radio Times is now giving listings in my local time - not BST)

Matthew Bourne's Romeo & Juliet

Cordelia Braithwaite and Paris Fitzpatrick

And followed by:

Michael Clark's To A Simple, Rock'n'Roll: Song at 9.35

What the Screengrabbed Too: BBC Introducing Arts after that at 10:30 is I don't know, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

Kind of dance.....

Friday 23 September

BBC Two, 2.15pm  (and iplayer thereafter)

The Red Shoes (1948)

Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s twisted fairytale, Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger’s sumptuous musical tragedy centres on dancer Victoria Page (Moira Shearer), her romance with a struggling composer (Marius Goring) and her loyalty to the ballet that he wrote and in which she’s meant to star.

I assume it was Nunez/Muntagirov as usual?

Something a bit different:

Sky Arts, Sunday 18th December, 9.45 am - Queen and Béjart: Ballet for Life.  Repeated at 3 am on Saturday 24th December.

This sounds familiar, from some years ago?

Yes, Alison, it was the usual cast.

But it was fascinating to spot all the future soloists and principals dancing in the corps, and even a walk on part, I think, by Joe Sissons. Nice to see Matthew and Mayara dancing together all those years ago!

I don't know where to put this (assuming it hasn't been mentioned somewhere before) ..

Ismene Brown "Four filmed interviews with stars of the dance world - Swan supreme Adam Cooper, Royal Ballet ballerina Sarah Wildor, ex-ENB chief Matz Skoog & Trocks boss Tory Dobrin - talking to me about the ups & downs of their impressive lives."

These have been filed in the last three months:
