  1. I agree with this. You are only being paranoid if its not true.
  2. Does any one know how long the wait is after Hammond's funding audition for the results?
  3. how important are the maths and English papers sent to your DD school?
  4. My dd has had a no she auditioned on 19/01 afternoon. They said email but I received a letter
  5. Yes pas de chat. Just crossing fingers and everything else for funding
  6. I am really pleased to say that my dd after 2 years of having no from auditions, she has finally got a yes from the Hammond. We have just got to hope that we can get funding
  7. Sometimes its even less hours depending on the lecturer. I had one lecturer who was suppose to give a 3 hour talk if we got 10 minutes of (sensible or not) lecture we were lucky.
  8. My dd is not the perfect ballerina, she doesn't have perfect turnout or the perfect ballerina body, and she never used to look graceful but in the last year she has changed her movements look graceful and she acts more like a ballerina might. Not sure why but she does
  9. I try and check the shipping first then don't get too disappointed.
  10. I found some really nice wooden flowers in my DD 's favourite colour and made a small posy for her
  11. Totally agree Petalviolet. I would love to watch my DD but our school doesn't do this.
  12. For my DDs first pointe shoes last year hence the crop top and keyring we had Bloch suprema pointes, ribbons, ouch pouche, thread for pointes, crop top and a very nice key ring for only £85. Sorry about the list but the receipt wasn't very good
  13. My DD teacher's are so supportive that they go to see the DC when they are doing other things, shows, panto etc. They go even when they know that their might be people who will be negative to them around. We are so lucky to have such nice teachers
  14. IDTA do not put their syllabus on line except for teachers as far as I can see. Which grade 5 because the new one is being taught at my DD's school.
  15. Youngatheart You said that IDTA classical awards 1 & 2 are equivalent to RAD higher grades. Can you tell me which RAD higher grades please?
  16. yes IDTA have exams in ballet tap, jazz modern gymnastics ballroom etc etc
  17. Do current MIDAS students have to fill in a new application/audition?
  18. I wish my dd was corrected positively more than she is and that the corrections continued until she had got it right instead of being (not ignored) but left to it even if the corrections used a teachers light hands it would be better than bad habits
  19. On Sky Arts I watched The Bolshoi: Dancing for Russia. They were talking about the fact that Russian people had in the past been given free tickets to see ballets and that there was funding given by the government. It seems that "Russians" have pride in their ballet artists and could name many of them where as in England many could not name one artist or if they could it would be a retired dancer. On this site there has been threads about school teachers not appreciating the commitment that dancers have this because they have no pride in English ballet /dancers. What I am trying to say is that other countries have, or have in the past saw the potential in dancers and have encouraged this by paying for lessons, using former students to mentor and to instruct. They the other countries have promoted their dancers much more than England has ever done so. Sorry if my post doesn't make sense
  20. I have a question about variations. I understand that variations are different parts of a known ballet but are the steps the same? So a Swan Lake production in say Russia has the same steps as a Swan Lake production in England or not?
