    Would this fix it? - "Ballet is the foundation of western/European dance" Couldn't help but notice that the author of the danceplug article "can be found teaching ballet and modern dance"! There's plenty of dance college training in the UK that doesn't purely focus on ballet. Is it different in the US? (Genuine question)

    My daughter is selling the following Tring CBA uniform. Mid leotard (Ballet Rosa blue) size medium. Excellent condition as worn only a few times. Jacket size small (comes up long in the arms and body). Very good condition. DM for more information.

    Don't know if anyone here is awaiting news on Dada funding, but we've received news. Seems like both MDS and Dada funding emails are trickling out!🤞 for positive news for your dancers 😊

    @Bex that sounds brutal! The times my dd auditioned (all live) all the yes's were called out and the no's gathered together. Naturally there were some upset dancers but in the no group the kids were told they would all be on the waiting list.

    Just re-reading it sounds like I'm being nosey! But against all odds my dd has been offered a place and I'm conscious that acceptance deadline is soon. She really wants to do it but I can't have too many surprises financially. Hopefully NYB will respond soon but if anyone has any knowledge I would be very grateful thank you.

    Does anyone with previous experience know what additional costs are associated with NYB? I've got an idea off travel and hotel, show tickets etc but what about uniform and costumes (not including tights, pointe/flats etc)? And do the kids need additional money for outings or similar? It's all adding up 😅. Thanks.

    Malvern is a lovely residential. My dd is older but went for the first time last summer. They definitely swam her week (wk 1) but she says only a couple of times and many kids stayed at the boarding house. My dd said she packed too many "normal" clothes. Loads wore ballet skirts and there were some for sale there. She said definitely bring snacks and also warm- up clothes to wear so not wandering around Uppingham in a leotard (last year the accommodation was 5 minute walk across the town from the studios). Your dd will love it I'm sure 😊

    It will be interesting to hear how many schools join up to the programme. Given the cost, I can't imagine my DD's primary school signing up. I'm not a teacher but in the state sector I thought school budget's are quite tight right now? I've read articles where some teachers have even bought resources out of their own pockets.

    My DD suffered with the breakages, split ends and hair line loss when she was younger. We limited the use of gel and hairspray (occasional use shows etc like Jewel mentioned above) and also cut right back on shampoo as I found this was drying her hair too much and making it brittle. We use loads, and loads of hair conditioner! Sometimes we 'wash' with conditioner only. After the final rinse we add a (very) little argan oil to the hair before drying. In the last year or so she reintroduced hair spray/gel for some classes without problem (well except for the split ends 😂)

    Congrats to the yeses and other waitlists! Does anyone know if anyone ever receives a no? Or whether places from a waitlist ever come up?

    Another Bloch and Mirella suggestion here - both worn by my DD (who sounds similarly shaped). Also, Dansez camisoles. Leg line at front nice and high but the way it is cut and stitched the back has good coverage. I've sometimes needed to shorten the straps to get the bust gathers to sit in the right place.

    Congrats to the yeses and swls. To any other nos, as someone up thread mentioned, there are other lovely intensives out there. Would recommend Malvern and Elmhurst - my dd thoroughly enjoyed both 😊

    Congratulations to the DC with places! My DD has also been offered a place - she's very excited 😊. Bit of a random question, does anyone know if they are allowed to take hair dryers?

    Sorry to hear the "not yet" emails have arrived. I hope your DCs are not too upset and that they'll bounce back, continue to enjoy dancing and perhaps audition again, whether here or for other schemes that have been recommended/suggested. Good luck!

    Hi, has anyone applied for the Malvern summer course 2021? If so, can I ask how long it was before you heard whether you had a place?
