  1. Would love 2 tickets anywhere for the performance on 10th June at ROH please.
  2. Agreed! I also had a health issue during a performance once and the staff were exceptional. Absolutely can't fault them, they really do go above and beyond to take care of their patrons. All the best and hope your dd is much better now Amos73.
  3. Congrats to those with exciting news, best of luck for the final audition! Last year there were 40 girls invited for WL yr 7 and 13 places given. It does vary year to year depending on who they see. Never give up those with a 'not for now', you never know what opportunity may be waiting just around the corner. Fingers crossed for those still waiting on news, hope it arrives soon.
  4. Hmmm mysterious, sorry if that didn't work? Try my page here- https://m.facebook.com/KirstenGraceJewellery/?locale2=en_GB
  5. Hi r3dh3d, I make boxes of lucky charms for dancers. They keep them in their dance bags whenever they have an exam, audition etc and so eliminate the risk of falling from a costume or the stitching necessity! Pls take a look at my Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/sandy.wong.904750/posts/10157939289535624
  6. There are so many ingredients that combine to make a lovely dancer and many of those are mental attributes alongside physical potential. You must have musicality, spatial awareness, an ability to take corrections on board (and to apply them), a great memory to recall exercises, determination, strength, stamina, creativity and most importantly and above everything- a love of dance! It's so easy to get caught up Over things like the perfect feet -Just remember that no dancer has every single perfect physical attribute, it's how they use what they have that matters! Good luck to all those dc auditioning, enjoy the experience.
  7. Hi allnewtome, Stay positive! The schools are all looking for different qualities in a dancer and I have heard several stories where a child has not been recalled to elmhurst finals and has secured a place at WL and MAs. There's no second guessing or predicting this particular art form! The most important attribute is having passion for it because it's not for the faint hearted! Best of luck to your dd.
  8. Hi, for the last minute stocking filler idea I still have some of my lucky charms for dancers available- https://www.facebook.com/KirstenGraceJewellery/posts/1096463197138448:0 Merry Christmas!

  11. The tendu tights arrived and am pleased to report- have survived day 1 at school! They are lovely. Dd v pleased.
  12. Thanks for all the great advice! Tendu ordered and on the way, next time- capezio!
  13. Turns out that DD is a tights destroyer! She has to wear them every day and is going through a pair every few days with snags, ladders and pulls. Can anyone recommend a brand that may survive slightly longer? She's wearing Bloch convertible at the moment which I thought seemed like great quality!
  14. Hi Caitlin_dance Bloch pro elastic were great for my narrow footed dd, they have flat elastic so no fiddly drawstrings which is one less thing to worry about! Bloch zenith also a great fit as they are stretch canvas split sole and fit like a glove and very flattering on the arch.
  15. Hi all, I make ballet and dance related jewellery and gifts and I was asked to make a special box of lucky charms for boys or girls going away to a new school or starting a new adventure to wish them luck. Here's a link to this box and my Facebook page where you can take a look at my other lucky charm boxes for dancers which are a great gift for exams, festivals, performances etc https://www.facebook.com/KirstenGraceJewellery/posts/985015464949889:0 https://m.facebook.com/KirstenGraceJewellery/ Moderators-Hope this is ok to post pls remove if not! 18. Ooh agreed! Black Swan- worst film ever made. Has a lot to answer for!
  19. Hi SBallerina, I make small gifts for dancers of all ages from boxes of lucky charms (v popular keepsake!) to semi precious beaded bracelets etc here are some links if you want to take a look! https://www.facebook.com/KirstenGraceJewellery/posts/895538850564218 https://www.facebook.com/KirstenGraceJewellery/posts/872366272881476
  20. Hi Faith76, welcome! I totally understand that you want to protect your dd from disappointment . I think my first plan would be to fire off a quick email to her teacher or have a word with her and let her know that your dd is keen to join in the festivals. Perhaps the teacher doesn't know she is feeling left out or that she wants to be involved? If she says she's not ready yet then perhaps she can set her some goals to work towards to join later. 8 is still very young!! All the best.
  21. Never fear Balletmummy28! Flexibility can be improved! They will never judge children of that age purely on flexibility for associates, much more on potential. Musicality and a passion/love for dance are however essential! . Your DD is very young and to have both splits by 7 is a great achievement. Best of luck to her and enjoy the process.
  22. This is a long shot I'm sure but wonder if anyone has a White Lodge character skirt with multi colored ribbons that they no longer need and would like to sell? Thanks
  23. As my daughters wonderful JA teacher said to the girls on day 1, don't look around the room and compare yourself to others. Every dancer and every body is unique- nobody has everything, there is no such thing as the perfect physique! Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses.Think about what you HAVE got, appreciate it and work on how best you can use it!
