Dance2013
Does he not get involved to much?
Katymac
He does - but the long lists confuse him a bit they confuse me a bit too
Ellie
It's probably a 'good thing' if DH doesn't get too involved (or else you'd all be going mad !!!) I can completely understand that it's all very, very nerve wracking, but just remember, your daughter will get a place at whichever school is right for her. Katymac
Nah! He keeps the cat fed, the fire lit, the washing and the shopping done. I worry about this stuff Mind you he has 4 station runs this week alone! He'll be fine - he had a gig last night, rehersal tomorrow & wed and he is performing again Fri & Sat - so he is busy enough!

Katymac
Djembe (African drum) & Gospel choir; the two groups often perform together But he is actually a Ballroom/Latin teacher (Rock'n'Roll, Salsa & even line!!)

Thank you Nl

Fiz
And blink! How was the exam? My dd had to do it as presentation class, not an exam at the insistence of her teacher and my dd was really annoyed about it. She wanted to do it as an exam as she had worked so hard for it. dramascientist
Good luck to your DD Katymac you must be wrung out and its far from over yet!
Katymac
Apart from an additional souteno in demi contra temps it was apparently 'fine' Can you tell I can't spell in Ballet? That's a shame our teacher was talking about them today and saying she doesn't really like them
Katymac
Apparently the travelodge is near the station in Epsom & also fairly close to the college. So a slower start tomorrow. We just stopped at Manningtree & still have 2.5 hrs and 3 trains to go
Nana Lily
Gosh Katymac, that's a lot of auditions in a short space of time...wishing you both all the best and here is to a great outcome for your DD. NL
Katymac
DD has decided that it isn't the auditions that are the problem - it's the travelling. We haven't managed to meet up with our fellow travellors yet - so we are eating out then early to bed

Katymac
Thanks guys - we wouldn't be here without all the knowledge & info from this site. We still have months of waiting ahead as DADAs seem to get decided at Easter even if she ends up with an offer before Christmas (& tbh from what I've heard she is probably too young for a lot of places - so they may offer pre-voc or foundation courses) It's such a shame she didn't do ballet from an earlier age - I think she could have been quite good. Thank you all (gosh that sounds final & it so isn't)
Tulip
Good luck and best wishes from me too. Stay positive which is easier said than done. Your letters should start arriving soon with answers.

Dance2013
I wouldn't worry to much about that, I'm sure they are looking more for potential
Katymac
The groups seemed to be streamed for ballet (at the Audition) I am SO tired
Dance2013
I think they are, as different groups got taught different things on the day
Katymac
She loved it - but reality is setting in So many people auditioning, so few places and where she & her abilities sit within her cohort, of course she didn't word it quite like that but that's what she meant when she said 'they're all really good' Laine & Performers seem to take about 1 in 10 & they are not good odds (didn't go to Millennium so I don't know their stats)
Katymac
I think she panicked after Saturday. I've had a phone call from the 6th form college in the next town (level 3 btec). She apparently applied/emailed on Saturday night applying for the Level 3-audition is Wednesday! That's tomorrow <Gulp>
Dance2013
Bless her she needs to keep her options open, you never know what each different college is looking for. She might get a no from one but in at another it's the way it's going for my dd
LinMM
Sounds like your family could do with a week in the sun somewhere after Christmas for a big chill out Katymac!! Edited December 10, 2013 by LinMM
