Dancermum have u looked at Notpushymum forum ? Prob get answers there . Think at all the MT schools it's ballet jazz singing and acting type auditions but my DD is at MT sch and it was the dancing that got her place ! She had never sang or acted but now loves it. I would ring them I'm sure they would be happy to help .

That book sounds good sounds like I better read it as well !! Today DD has come home talking bout headshot photos and show reels for nx year !! Better start saving sounds expensive!! I know it's like cattle market we were told that 500 can turn up for open auditions !! Thought MT would be easier than ballet route but think it could be just as hard !! ????????

Balletbean it's so true what u have posted ! My DD is 2nd yr at MT sch she has workshops with people in the industry that say a lot of it is if u look the part my DD already knows there will be lots of disappointment with her chosen career !! getting into a sch now seems easy comparing with getting a job !! But she knows all this she still wants it so just have to hope she succeeds !! Good luck to all our DC x

Spax I had 2 DD that attended LRBS I would read all the threads about it ! We do know some talented students that train there but it's not for everyone ! Have you considered Natalia Kremlin? I've heard good things .

Hi lottyLou I emailed LDC and got very quick responses back think my DD will Def be sending out application for the jazz course. Apparently they have students from other Countries applying and it's high standard ! I will try and find the email and will pm u . x

My cousins DD has got finals for RB and 2 other Upper schools ! From reading this though doesn't look like there are many places . She is from UK .

Thanks everyone 4 information! Think my DD will be picking the jazz course but she will want to do some ballet as well , will look at the timetable when it comes out but don't want to leave it too late in case no places left !! I sent email to sch and they got back very quick x I

MuddledMama best of luck to your daughter , Emma is wonderful my DD attended the Easter Ballet boost and felt she learned loads . Think my DD will be one of eldest as 18 . We don't live too far away which is good . Hope your DD enjoys it as well MAK x

Thanks Amos , wouldn't of been upset if we had just decided to do that sum sch but u norm had to send video of dd but we were told we didn't have to ! So obviously thought she would be up to standard !! It really was money down drain !! And upsetting as before this we had respect for the teacher ! X

My DD did ballet boost at Easter she really enjoyed it and would def do it again . Wish we had done the sum sch instead of Russian masters !!

My dd did the Russian master sum sch at Sadlers wells she found it far too advanced and was waste of money she ended up just doing the 2 hour ballet class in the morn as that was all she could cope with !! If she had auditioned she would never of been accepted but she was asked if she wanted a place and told she didn't need to audition !! Dd is at MT sch only does 1 ballet class a day and a good standard but she said the students there were amazing !! She sd the teaching was so good but too advanced and what I found sad was that no one cared when she was upset !! The students she spoke to who were all nice to her even asked her why she was there as they all went full time ballet school !! She was told to try but she has had enough training to know that she would injure herself if she wasn't doing it correctly !! If your DC are at top ballet schs I would say this sum sch would be excellent but unfortunately for my dd not a positive experience ! The teacher that asked my dd to attend had always been lovely and used to teach my dd so didn't question it ! Although it wasn't right for my dd she did say that she enjoyed seeing the wonderful talent and it made her realise that she loved her MT training but very expensive wk for us and disappointing that the one sum sch she went to wasn't right for her !! She has attended other ballet sum sch and really enjoyed them x

Mae 989 BBA is Beckenham ballet academy lovely sch and beautiful studios ! One of my dd is doing her RAD teaching there . My other dd would of done the sum sch but she had to work that week they r on FB . They also did an Easter course def worth looking into if you r near x

Hi SP I dk about that course but my DD is doing the RAD distance learning and it's lots of work !! You have to do lots of written work and learn all the syllabus work . Just thought I would mention it as you would need time to do it so find out as much as you can before you commit ! Good luck x

Well done to your DD Tulip , my daughter is at MT sch on dance course she often has classes with teachers that have worked on cruise ships they all say it's the best thing they ever did ! Getting paid to do what u love and seeing the world ! My DD really wants to go on cruise ships as well but only just finished first yr !
