Travel safely everyone. Plann8ng on leaving much earlier than originally thought today and so relieved we are booked into the Premier Inn.

My non DD is also 19 and spending time in America this summer with a friends. They are planning on staying in hostels, which are cheap and safe but get booked up very quickly. I will try and get more details off her.

Sorry thought I had replied that this - google Pizzicato from Syliva and you get the music. We we were finally in the paper this week. They contact me for more info and asked for a different photo. This EYB seems to be flying by, incredible to think this time next week they will be in theatre.

It’s always worth asking, we always ask. It’s easier now because DD has ID now so she just shows that. She should get a discount for being at lower school, I know others who have.

It’s tough, they simply don’t know if they are coming or going and it’s no fault of their own, they have no control. I was lucky mine both sailed through it all relatively easily (compared to others). A lot of friends put their children on vitamins specially for teenagers alongside a good diet, and large amounts of wine for the adults in the house. I can honestly say there is light at the end of the tunnel.

This is for 16-18 year olds, it’s the same course DD is doing at her college which only opened in September 2017 https://www.kings-pa.uk However DD’s college does also offers a Foundation course for 18+ and a Foundation Course might be worth looking for your DD

There is simply something about this piece of music that reminds me about it, it did the same when DD played it in her string quartet. They were great adverts. Anyway the answer to the to the question is Pizzicato by Sylvia

I have spyed a nice looking Italian, near the train station 😀 So glad it isn’t raining today. DD did her solo last night, she absolutely loves it.

DD always works with her teacher when she needs a solo. All students from her dance school who auditioned for vocational school worked with their teacher. They know what they can and can’t do and how to make them stand out. Good luck

At the start of every rehearsal day they have a class, this is the same for casting. It’s nothing to worry about and all part of the EYB experience.

Hi we will be there. When you arrive you will be given a number, this is only for casting. She will do a class and then they have a break. After that casting starts. Those en Pointe will do some exercises and then Miss Lewis and Julie-Anne will start to group the girls and cast them. It’s actually very relaxed and enjoyable. Once everyone has been cast they will take a whole cast photo and then the press photos for local papers. The further away you live the earlier you will finish. Hope that helps.

NonDD was originally applying for something else, long story for another day, in that UCAS application she didn’t put in her music grade 8s because they were irrelevant to the subject, she did include other relevant information in her personal statement. That application was stopped and you know the rest of the story. So I totally agree they need to be relevant to the subject they are applying for - Advanced 1 Ballet isn’t much use or of interest if the individual is applying for Law etc

Totally agree having one do Music and one dance, there really isn’t anything in it. Auditions are really tough for both of them, thankfully they are not both doing auditions at the same time......... on the plus side my music daughter plays a rare instrument so still tough but not as tough as your daughter.

I totally agree. She only put them on because they were relevant. It’s been a tough journey, University or Conservatorie but she has gone with her gut.
