SwaybackSapphire Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Royal Ballet School audition dates for 2015 entry have been published on their website: http://www.royalballetschool.org.uk/training/auditions/audition-dates/ 2
PrettyPointes Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 AAAAAAAAAAAGH! It's too soon! Actually- in fairness- the senior ones are pretty late this year, which is good
Lema Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Oh my goodness!!! That actually gave me butterfly's!!! ????
Lema Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Please someone correct me if I'm wrong or explain what I've over looked, but is it me or is there no date for Birmingham combined WL+MA audition?? Thanks ???? 1
DancingDays Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Hi Lema, I think they may have just mis-labelled the Birmingham second date - it should probably be Jnr not Snr with MA instead of SA as the SAs are the day before and WL would normally be WL / MA. Worth checking with them but I bet it's the 21st for WL / MA
Lema Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I thought that too but you know when you doubt your own logic ???? thanks dtadmin! 1
Happymum Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Oh! It's happening! And it's soon! Not sure why I'm nervous more then my DD. I thought she'll be doing her exercises madly every day through our holiday but she didn't! Is that normal? Not sure, maybe she needed a rest from it all... She exercised every 2 or 3 days. Anyway, back to our ballet routine now! I've missed the forum ;-)
shygirlsmum Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 DD is 10 and would really like to audition for RB. I don't think that she would stand much chance of getting in but she would like to go just for the experience. Am I right in thinking that she is too old for JA now and would audition for MA? Also that there is no MA in Leeds?
sarahw Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 If she is going into year 6 then yes audition for MA and WL. It's a good experience whatever the outcome. Northern MAs are Manchester and Newcastle. 1
Bailarin Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) The applications are online only from now on apparently? Edited September 8, 2014 by Bailarin
taxi4ballet Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 When they say the forms are now online I think they mean the application forms are now available online, presumably to be printed out and sent off as normal.
Anna C Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Is it my ipad or am I being daft? I can't see a link on this page for application forms: http://www.royalballetschool.org.uk/training/auditions/audition-applications/
HAIRBELLES Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 It says from 8th but I can't see one either . 1
Lema Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I've just checked and it says 15th on line too x
Nutcracker-x Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Its the 8th for the SS application forms and then the 15th for the other applications x 3
Anna C Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Glad nobody else can see the form, I thought I was being really dense! :-D 2
taxi4ballet Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 How strange, they were there this morning - I printed them out!
taxi4ballet Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Well, that's really bizarre, I can't find the application forms on the website now either. 1
Hambleton Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 So with the dates of auditions for the Upper School, is there just one day and it all happens for everyone then, apart from international candidates? I am also wondering how many there usually are in each audition group? Don't know if any of your DC have experience of this?
HAIRBELLES Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 The applications are online only from now on apparently? When they say the forms are now online I think they mean the application forms are now available online, presumably to be printed out and sent off as normal. I have just had a look and Summer School applications are done as said and are actually on-line . I have only ever had to do one other application like this before and had a nightmare uploading photos onto it . You cannot see what is required beforehand as it won't let you look what comes next without filling in the information on that page first . Maybe when someone has filled it in you might share the format with technophobes like me . 1
along for the ride mum Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) , I spent ages on it this evening! I just wanted to see what photos are required and what information I need to gather, without actually applying, but as the above post says, you can't see the next page until all the boxes are filled and it won't allow dummy answers either! I spent ages filling in every box ( and re-doing it when it didn't like my answers!) Eventually got most of it done and clicked the 'next' button to move onto the page with the photos on only to be timed out and sent back to the start. Online application forms now get my vote for room 101, but that's a whole different thread! Edited September 10, 2014 by along for the ride mum 5

Usually some audition dates at other centres around country so Birmingham this year very early January. Other centres not sure of dates. London audition usually towards end of January, running group after group from about 9.30 am. Looked to be around 30 in groups last year at London audition and does include some international students. Edited September 10, 2014 by Jane 1
celb Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 The photos are the same as last year .I worked through the application form until I got to the photo page then did a screenshot on my iPad. 3
Busymum Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Me too Celb Had to fill the whole form in just to find what photos were required! Next job to get them taken with no falling out with my daughter! At least they won't all need printing out. 1
Happymum Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 The photos are the same as last year .I worked through the application form until I got to the photo page then did a screenshot on my iPad. What photos were needed last year? (Hope it's about Y7 entry, not summer school :-) ). Is there an old link to last years applications somewhere? Or are the photos same like the photos needed for Elmhurst? It looks like they need to be ready on my computer before I start the application form.
threeleftfeet Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I've just had confirmation that details of photo requirements for summer schools will be on the website within a few days. We're not at audition stage yet but I suspect the same might apply to other applications? Hth
wildflowers Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 On line sounds like a nightmare! Especially the photos, not looking forward to that! So if the applications are purely on line, does that do away with the need to get a signature of approval from your dc's current dance school/ teacher? 2
HAIRBELLES Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 It is a nightmare wild flowers , I was going to do the same as Celb but couldn't get past the page with the height and weight on it kept saying I was putting in an invalid number ???? I am presuming the same about teachers signature but it does say something about a parent being available to sign it .
Lema Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Not sure if this will work?? Here's a link to the photo requirements - http://www.royalballetschool.org.uk/training/summer-school/photograph-requirements/
w445403 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Does anyone know if it the same for photos for full time training
