  1. Not hearsay: my DS when at RBS Upper School danced for BRB in a Nutcracker season not so long ago, doing 30 shows, including the Albert Hall. He did absolutely love the experience, and it certainly looked good on his CV at the time. He was not standing at the back holding a tray of drinks - he was one of the three Russian Trepak dancers, among other roles. As a parent, I was disappointed to say the least that not only did he not get paid a penny (even a token amount) but there was quibbling over his train fares from London, and there was no 'thankyou' of any kind for dancing in 30 shows for free. They didn't even think to give these unpaid dancers a BRB Christmas bauble or a bunch of flowers. DS went straight into a prestigious company in Europe the month after, so he was certainly of the required standard.
  2. Two tickets in Amphi F62 and 61 43 pounds each Please message me for details
  3. Another vote for Jose Martin
  4. https://uk.harlequinfloors.com/en/shop/home-practice/ballet-barres-home-users/medium-freestanding-portable-ballet-barre This is taking up too much space, so I am offering it for a bargain £75 including delivery by me if you don't live too far out of London. It's a very stable, good condition barre, and easily takes apart when you are not using it.
  5. https://uk.harlequinfloors.com/en/shop/home-practice/ballet-barres-home-users/medium-freestanding-portable-ballet-barre I can deliver this for free if you live less than an hour out of Central London. £125. Very lightly used.
  6. 95cm wide 39 long 3 deep. Very lovely professional picture of the mansion. Purchased through the school a while back. Perfect condition. Free to a good home. I will post (or deliver if you are local-ish to Tring). Message me for further details.
  7. I have purchased a 5 sq ft piece of Harlequin dance floor that turned out to be very dirty and scuffed (black character shoes?). Any tips/ideas how to clean it? I don’t want to buy a big bottle of specialist Harlequin cleaner as I only have this one piece. It was an impulse buy from our dance teacher who was cutting up her old portable floor, I didn’t realise it was in such used condition 😤
  8. Silly me, I was thinking the padding would go underneath, like an orthotic. Live and learn
  9. Size 8 1/2 BlochTap shoes with technotaps on the toes and heels . Laceups, synthetic upper. Worn once . £10 plus postage.
  10. Thanks meadowblythe. Let's hope they are all back to what they love doing very soon
  11. Would you say which country your DS is in, just cos I’m curious about the language he has to learn? My DS is in Poland but far from fluent!
  12. He is the most lovely dancer. RB's loss, but then he is Polish, so went 'home'
  13. I'm not entering the Liam Scarlett debate, but here is a short film about the making of 'Nasz Chopin' for the Polish National Ballet in April 2019 with some excellently watchable ballet. Principal is Dawid Trzensimiech, Royal Ballet Upper School trained, and former Solist with The Royal Ballet. In the corps are Phoebe Liggins (ENB School trained) and my own Laurence Elliott (Upper School trained), both in their first professional company jobs.
  14. I just turned up today on Instagram to Everybody Ballet.
  15. Have you come across any others? Tanya Pearson lost me after 10 seconds.
  16. Don’t know what you thought Tango Dancer but I absolutely loved it. Just right for me (ie: beginner)
  17. Spenco second skin kit via Amazon is worth investigating. The fabric bandage it comes with can be cut to size, and sticks to skin extremely well.
  18. Good advice above. I personally know many dancers who have come back very successfully from shinsplints, and/or are managing shinsplints, including professionals. So it’s not necessarily going to prevent going as far as you can in dance.
  19. Does anyone have a ticket for tomorrow I could buy please? For a friend who prefers not Balcony or Amphi.
