tabitha
Finally an advert featuring a ballerina who actually is a proper ballerina! Such a great advert from Boots and all credit to them for ensuring that they got a top class dancer for this ad, rather than as is often the case, someone in a tutu who can just about stand on pointe. http://youtu.be/XyDp3OOPMiM
toursenlair
annoying music though.
bridiem
I was a bit nonplussed by this. Nice to see Ferri 'out there' in the real world, so to speak; but is it really the use of Boot products (or any other products!) that has kept her body so strong and supple? I think not. She's a tremendous advert for ballet training, and for sheer artistry regardless of age; but not for beauty products.
Ian Macmillan
And, via Twitter, I see there's also this one, something of an Intro to the one above: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4_PXO5SUyQ&feature=youtu.be

Oh, I don't know - I'm convinced and off to Boots tomorrow for a pot of face cream. Do you think it will shrink beer-tummies too?

Ballet training could help with that shrinkage
GTL
I think it's sufficiently attention-holding to be effective as a video ad, but they do seem to soft-focus the money-shot. The print version I've seen in a magazine is a mis-fire. I've been a very satisfied user of these "premium" Boots" products for years and although older than Ms Ferri have far fewer wrinkles. Being considerably less fit and beautiful, I'd look like a sack of potatoes standing beside her - but smooth-skinned potatoes.
Lisa O`Brien
I`m sure I saw her dance in Manchester in Romeo and Juliet. Don`t think it was with the Royal though. Could I be mistaken?

John Mallinson
In the Mail's new interview with Ferri (see today's links) there's this intriguing statement: And she is already booked up for much of 2017, performing in London again with Woolf Works, with the Hamburg Ballet in Germany, and in another production with the Royal Ballet, although she cannot yet reveal details. Two Pigeons
Well she couldn't have made it clearer that she is desperate to dance Marguerite and that is in the RB schedule so I don't think it's too great a leap to make the connection.

John Mallinson
Well, I'm sorry I mentioned this teaser from the Telegraph interview. Casting for the end of next season has almost certainly not been decided and won't be announced for months yet.
MAX
yes I wonder what the other resident principals think of mrs Ferri coming as a guest for a major role ( I just hope you will not erase my message this time / just not very polite...)

Two Pigeons
Remember it well but they were both outperformed by Denys Ganio and Dominique Khalfoni in the afternoon.
Jan McNulty
I didn't see the Ferri/Schaufuss performance but I did see and have never forgotten the Khalfouni/Ganio one! The ovation went on for so long the programme way over-ran and I nearly missed my train home!
