Forgive me for having a full time job (that is much more than 9-5) and a busy social life. Sometimes I'd rather use the time prepping for, and clearing up after, a meal doing something else.

ROH Open Up changes

The restaurant and bar are being merged into a flexible space so that there's more room in the bar when the restaurant is quiet and vice versa. -

BRB London & Birmingham Nutcracker Casting 2017
bangorballetboy replied to Sim's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
I'm sympathetic to people having to book without casting (and FAOD I tend to wait until BRB and ENB announce casting before booking, even though that often means I don't get the precise seat I want). I'm not sympathetic to people who fly off the handle and start throwing around unwarranted accusations. Also a bit peeved at the implicit suggestion that "followers of the Royal Ballet" only spend their money at the ROH and don't see other companies as, with almost every other regular I know, that is not the case.- 50 replies

BRB London & Birmingham Nutcracker Casting 2017
bangorballetboy replied to Sim's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
I'm slightly surprised at this reaction. A difference of a couple of hours in announcing the casting for what are essentially different productions is not really an indication of how audiences are seen (nor is there any such indication from historical actions).- 50 replies

McRae is at the back about a third of the way across (from the left as we look), beside Anna Rose O'Sullivan. That's his usual spot at the barre for class. Tara Brigitte Bhavnani Lara Turk -
ROH MacMillan Celebrations, Autumn 2017

I also have no problem with Judas Tree before Elite. I was very pleased with NB's Gloria. A couple of little slips notwithstanding (particularly the four demi-soloists in the middle of the Laudamus te), I thought they really captured the spirit of the piece and the essence of the choreography. Also very pleased that the audience took heed of the "don't applaud until the end) announcement (save for one person in the stalls who must have woken up in a blackout and thought the piece was finished).- 103 replies

The foreman hangs himself because of internal feelings of guilt, in the same way that Judas hangs himself after betraying Jesus.- 103 replies

Bravo/brava/bravi/brave??
bangorballetboy replied to Yaffa's topic in Performances seen & general discussions
From the Oxford English Dictionary: brava: A term of approbation addressed to a woman: excellent! well done! No entry in the OED for "bravi". First recorded use of "bravo" is 1761 and for "brava" it's 1803.
