  1. I'm wary of booking seats in the front row balcony now because of this obstruction, it can ruin the view, in fact I only feel really happy booking a front row upper circle seat, one of the reasons I seldom visit the Coliseum any more. Interesting that the Coliseum can't or won't explain the reason for it!
  2. I have just booked a NBT ticket for the Linbury and received an E-mail immediately. I had a message a couple of days ago (can't remember from who) saying I was not alone on my Internet connection, or words to that effect, and I quickly shut my computer down, I wasn't using E-mails at the time, it was scary!
  3. This looks like another huge problem for me, Thameslink already advise their customers not to travel as the trains will be over-crowded and hot (don't they have any air-conditioning?) but at least the 11 and 15 buses seem okay from Trafalgar Square to City Thameslink although of course they will also be very crowded. I will very likely E-mail the Box Office tomorrow before 12pm to get a refund!
  4. Thought I would just try Candleque's link too, and was so surprised at how easy it was and the thought of seeing Alina's Giselle again, I went slightly mad and bought an expensive Upper Circle ticket!
  5. My first session took a long time and eventually seized up, so I quickly paid for what was in the basket and started again without being able to find how to apply Gift Vouchers. Second session was better although the wrong seat view kept appearing, but I was able to get the performances I wanted and use the Vouchers (agree this aspect is less clear than before). The most booked up performance in the amphi for me was Marcelino Sambe's Mayerling 🙂
  6. Glad to hear the system has improved for most people, is it certain that the opening nights of Mayerling and Diamond Celebration will be shown on live cinema relay?
  7. I received my Dancing Times today, the cover photo of Rudolf Nureyev cheered me up 🙂
  8. Did anyone ever see Princess Diana going in a special door near the amphi entrance? I was hanging about once waiting to go in and a man asked if I was waiting to see Diana, he explained she often used this private door and staircase on Friday ballet evenings.
  9. I liked Ed Sheeran, although his name is everywhere, I had never seen or heard him before but I was impressed.
  10. I remember the Crush Bar and the steps up to the Balcony, I used to go there before the performance for sandwiches and coffee, it was more like a friendly cafe then.
  11. I saw Michael Coleman in my first ballet too, in the Swan Lake Act 1 pas de trois 🙂
  12. I don't like going to first nights because of this, one of the reasons I was very pleased to see that the opening nights for Mayerling and the Diamonds bill will be relayed live at the cinemas this autumn!
  13. I'm glad to see they have knocked 5 minutes off each interval, running time is now 2h.45m.
  14. I booked a ticket for LWFC yesterday on Edge and it worked quite well, I remember the seat view picture appearing when I don't think i asked for it.
  15. I thought it really worked , swans are strong birds out of water and the dancer captured this as well as beauty.
  16. I noticed on Tuesday it was automatically the old system, and no problems, think they were taking no chances with the Friends.
  17. I'm very pleased at this news, I haven't had the time to watch it as much as I wanted, I do like the male Dying Swan!
  18. After the Coliseum booking disappointment, and a fair bit of difficulty in paying for this streaming, I've succeeded in watching some excerpts, it's very emotional, poor Ivan Putrov looks distraught, lots of truly wonderful dancing for the next ten days!
  19. What a wonderful list of possibilities FLOSS, I hope one of the above gets the job!
  20. I agree those ballets, plus Mayerling, are the most exciting for me too!
  21. Thanks, I've always liked this production of La Bayadere and it's good just to get a glimpse of the new generation of POB dancers, most of whom are new to me.
  22. An interesting documentary will be released on 13th May, it follows the POB 's return from lockdown, and the rehearsals for Rudolf Nureyev's La Bayadere, titled "A Very Special Season" cost £18.99 for both the DVD and Blu-Ray from Amazon.
  23. Good to see the dancers and their costumes clearly, but the lights are always turned up for the curtain calls when the ballet has finished!
