  1. Seats for matinees were cheaper I seem to remember, no longer the case.
  2. Thanks for this info, an ideal place for me to go in the afternoon before the ballet 🙂
  3. Nice to know that today's performance was so good, now if anything does go wrong on the 7th at the cinema, we get to see today's instead!
  4. I would love to see La Sylphide at the ROH again 😊
  5. I read about this trial at the National, some of the Shakespeare plays last for 3 hours or more with only one interval. I think the ROH Saturday 7pm is a good choice, maybe one other mid-week one as well.
  6. Great photo, I can't usually see Instagram ones 🙂
  7. If there are two, I always think of missing the last one and getting home earlier!
  8. The Dome does attract younger audiences too, but the BB are only appearing at SW this year.
  9. Balletboyz used to visit the Theatre Royal Brighton, I would have seen it there but it was probably deemed too modern!
  10. The casting for The Cellist is missing at the moment, I've only booked to see the second cast and if it has changed I might not go at all.
  11. I had been looking forward to seeing Natalia Osipova and Marcelino Sambe in DQ, Mayara Magri and Sambe should be great too. From experience I have booked to see Natalia Osipova again later in the run!
  12. Yes, my mistake, I looked at the general price bar at the top of the page thinking it was just the amphitheatre!
  13. My experience at 9am was the same, fairly easy but I only bought a total of 4 Manon tickets, and in 2 sessions to avoid problems. Amphi row S has been over-priced again (in my opinion) at £49 centre, but all the prices look high, top price amphi £140!
  14. I am going to the ROH for the Saturday 7th Oct. DQ, although the trains will be crowded after the strike, I won't have to travel up to London until about 4pm, and things should have quietened down by the evening return. Also I should be okay on the 28th returning from the Peacock Theatre. Who am I kidding😉
  15. I think my perfect Odette is Svetlana Beriosova, so beautiful and full of Russian soul, I saw many performances of her and Donald Macleary🙂
  16. If this is a repeat, which I think it is, it is very interesting.
  17. How good to go through the Coliseum booking system so easily, too good actually as I've booked 3 Giselle's already, this production stays in my memory as the most atmospheric Giselle!
  18. I've stopped going to museums too because of the cost, although I did buy a £24 ticket for the new Chanel exhibition at the V and A, discounts for seniors stopped long ago which was surely a wrong move!
  19. Going back many years, my Mum made some "Coliseum cushions" which were very small (like the seats) and not very thick so we weren't much higher, but so much more comfortable 😉
  20. I haven't booked as many as I usually do, the repetory is not very exciting, plus the appalling train situation, I've just had to cancel today's performance and probably will have to cancel Sunday's too. The DQ prices for the amphi didn't help either,(still wondering what the idea was) although I bought 3, only one Cellist to see the second cast, and 2 Nutcrackers. I've got 1 Dante and will book another if there is a second cast.
  21. The RMT announced strikes from today until 5th August and there will be no trains from Victoria to Brighton after 21.00 if not earlier. The RMT and ASLEF have doubled up next week to provide non-stop strikes. I thought they had to give 14 days notice! I have cancelled today's Carlos and will probably have to miss the Australian Ballet too on 4th and 6th August, not happy!
  22. This was probably where I saw Rudolf Nureyev dance Faun, I knew I had seen him but couldn't think where 🙂
  23. On 26th July the dreaded bus from Three Bridges to Brighton is in force on late night journeys, so I would really like to know the programme and casting, in case I need to exit early!
  24. Good news for me for the 26th July, can't make out what's happening on the 4th and 6th August yet, that's the ASLEF overtime ban on national trains.
  25. I've booked for one performance only of Dante, when the casting is announced I might book for a different one, just describing them as A,B,C would help!
