  1. Yes, I would like to see BRB's Sleeping Beauty but it was the thought of seeing Alina that really made me book. Luckily SW has the same Credit system as the ROH.
  2. I booked for the second programme on Friday and Saturday evenings, and mostly are different casts, except The Dream with Yasmine Naghdi and Calvin Richardson, which is no problem 😊
  3. I saw the last act of this production once, that was enough, gives me a good excuse to leave on a high after the ballroom scene! Might stay at the cinema relay though and actually get the chance to see Odette and not just her feet, which is the view from the rear amphitheatre.
  4. Agree, this was the best Insight I have seen, and so wonderful to see Alessandra Ferri and Wayne Eagling again, brought back fond memories. Very good picture quality too, plus some funny unintentionally incorrect subtitles 😊
  5. It works better during the "outage", I got a SL ticket for Takada/Sissens in June yesterday!
  6. Most of the Linbury seats seem to be restricted view (apart from the Stalls which I dislike), I managed to get a ticket for each Sarasota programme this morning at 9am, I saw Facade years ago and it can be hilarious, I'm most looking forward to Dante Sonata which I've never seen.
  7. I've booked 2 performances and haven't received the E-mail offer!
  8. The RT used to be regional but mine now says "ENGLAND". No sign of the ballets on BBC4 either!
  9. Outside of the ballet world, the only name that registers at all if I am talking about ballet is Darcey's, people smile and become more interested, did she mention Roberto Bolle often danced with her, I haven't seen the live relay yet.
  10. The Different Drummer cast of Hayward/Sambe/Campbell looks very dramatic, glad it's also the cinema cast!
  11. I would love to see The Pet Shop Boys too, especially if Olly Alexander is guesting with them πŸ™‚
  12. Only two performances so far and all these wonderful photos, many thanks 😊
  13. What memories this brings back, they took such risks!
  14. Balanchine: Prodigal Son (that was scheduled but never happened), Apollo Ashton: Month in the Country, Daphnis and Chloe McGregor: Woolf Works, Raven Prince, Chroma, MacMillan: Isadora(full length)Prince of the Pagodas Just a few thoughts, I would like to see more double or triple bills in general.
  15. I can remember how the Peter Schaufuss series started, hope no-one takes offence, he says something like "So you think ballet is for cissies, try doing this with your wife/girlfriend" and lifts a female dancer very high above his head, then says "easy isn't it?".
  16. My list is almost identical to Sim's, just omitting the State Ballet of Georgia's Swan Lake, I don't know if I can sit through yet another SW, especially at the Coliseum. Also I have booked the Kaneko/Muntagirov Manon but not as yet the Naghdi/Bracewell one, though I probably will.
  17. Many, many thanks to Sim and all the wonderful moderators, I cannot imagine going to the ballet and not being able to read all the discussions here! Happy New Year.
  18. I bought a good SW ticket for Kaneko/Muntagirov before 9am and then had to join the queue for 30 minutes before booking another, I never expected it to still be there but it was, no problems but I didn't buy much. Still no casting for the triple bill!
  19. A preview of this Cinema cast with photos is a lovely surprise, I am looking forward to it even more than I was before!
  20. Although I didn't like it much before, I want to see Different Drummer again, probably twice, they have 1 week to decide before the Friends Booking on 12th December, didn't realise it was so close!
  21. I received my Blu Ray from Europadisc yesterday and watched it last night, Marienela Nunez and Vadim Muntagirov were dreamy, loved all the soloists too (the jester was fabulous) music sounded great, this is a perfect Christmas gift!
  22. I've booked to see both casts since I've always been a huge Wayne McGregor fan, and have been able to pick seats that I really like for a change. The difference in prices is crazy. Looking forward to seeing some photos, the thing I want to know is if the awful (IMHO) dresses worn by Gary Avis and Edward Watson before have been changed?
  23. My experience at the Brighton Odeon was similar, very short breaks in the sound at times and gloomy lighting . Also I counted about 20 people in the audience, and no ticket checks, could have walked in without one.
  24. I loved last night's Don Q at the cinema, wonderful performances by Matthew Ball and Mayara Magri, absolute highlight being the one hand lifts in Act 1, thought I was at the Bolshoi! Also particularly loved Calvin Richardson's toreador and of course, the amazing James Hay's Gamache! That's only the highlights, beautiful dancing from soloists whose names I am not sure of, and Gary Avis made me feel so sad as the Don, first time I have been really moved by this character. The production looked tighter and more classical than before. And um, the King and Queen were there😊
