  1. The ROH website now has details of subsidiary casting for Fille: http://www.roh.org.uk/productions/la-fille-mal-gardee-by-frederick-ashton
  2. Since SC standing places have been included, the seats in the end sections have not formed part of the day seat allocation
  3. As far as I know, they are not removing all of the stalls circle day seat allocation. As I understand it, the rest of the current allocation of day seats in row C of the stalls circle will still be available next season (C22-26 and 87-91) Of course these seats are considerably more expensive than stalls circle standing (around £20 for mixed bills and up to £35 for full length works)
  4. I just had confirmation from the online booking team that, from the Autumn Season, the number of day places will be reduced and that these 23 day places will not be replaced.
  5. Thanks for finding these, Bruce. However I couldn't get your link to the Variety review to work. This one seems OK: http://variety.com/2015/legit/reviews/american-in-paris-review-broadway-1201471069/
  6. When was he promoted? The ROH website still has him as an Artist. http://www.roh.org.uk/about/the-royal-ballet/artists
  7. Thanks for that, BBB. Sounds like an interesting book. I also find the history of the Tube quite fascinating.
  8. When I was young there was a station called simply ‘Strand’ which was between Leicester Square and Charing Cross on the Northern Line. The exit I used to use led directly into Villiers Street (almost opposite John Adam Street). I believe that the underground station that was then known as Charing Cross is now known as Embankment.
  9. I've just posted this on the Swan Lake thread. We have, at last, been told who is replacing Lauren Cuthbertson in the two April performances. http://www.roh.org.uk/news/cast-change-lauren-cuthbertson-unable-to-dance-in-swan-lake-on-26-march-and-2-9-april-2015 Takada on the 2nd and Salenko on the 9th
  10. Akane Takada to dance with Muntagirov April 2nd. Salenko April 9 http://www.roh.org.uk/news/cast-change-lauren-cuthbertson-unable-to-dance-in-swan-lake-on-26-march-and-2-9-april-2015
  11. The brief item Ian refers to can be found 19 minutes into last night's BBC London News. You'll have to watch it this afternoon, however, as it seems it will only be available until 7pm tonight. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b05gwnqk/bbc-london-news-26032015
  12. http://www.roh.org.uk/news/cast-change-lauren-cuthbertson-unable-to-dance-in-swan-lake-on-26-march-and-2-9-april-2015 She appears to be doing March 26 only.
  13. Iana Salenko to replace Obraztsova on Saturday. http://www.roh.org.uk/news/cast-change-evgenia-obraztsova-unable-to-dance-in-swan-lake-on-21-march-2015
  14. Sorry. Didn't realise there was another page to this thread and posted a reply to Alison's question before I realised it had already been answered. Maybe an administrator can remove this post now that I've deleted the redundant answer?
  15. There was an item on An American in Paris on yesterday's CBS Sunday Morning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKx5wuN_3SE Some of it seemed familiar to me and I suspect may have been available on line for some time. Still, it's good for the show to have exposure on network television.
  16. More cast changes for Swan Lake: http://www.roh.org.uk/news/cast-changes-swan-lake-on-19-and-21-february-2015
  17. Cast change for Swan Lake next Friday (February 13): http://www.roh.org.uk/news/cast-change-natalia-osipova-to-dance-in-swan-lake-on-13-february-2015
  18. They've moved since then. Here's the current address of the Mariinsky Theatre Trust. At least it was their address last summer. I don't think they've moved since: Mariinsky Theatre Trust Mare Street Studios - Unit 305 203-213 Mare Street London E8 3QE Tel: +44 (0)20 8510 9262
  19. There is certainly a Friends' organization. There doesn't seem to be any information on line but I do have the address of the person who runs it. It's probably not appropriate to post his address on line so I'll send it to you in a PM.
  20. I'd hesitated to post this link since it's from a French newspaper but, given that we already have a number of French language reviews, here's another: http://www.lefigaro.fr/musique/2014/12/12/03006-20141212ARTFIG00288--un-americain-a-paris-s-installe-au-theatre-du-chatelet.php
  21. Lovely to see you doing a detailed review again, Sim. Your insights have been much missed in recent times. More please!
  22. That was written last Friday so the Monday mentioned was yesterday. Maybe the casting for those roles isn't yet final.
  23. Detailed casting has now been put on the production pages http://www.roh.org.uk/productions/don-quixote-by-carlos-acosta A pity they don't think to list the Queen of the Dryads or Cupid
