  1. Only just noticed that. Something must have happened when I was pasting in the casting. PLEASE could an administrator change it back to the original title (Royal Ballet Period 2 Casting) Edit: To amend thread title as required. Ian Macmillan.

  3. It might help if I paste in the relevant section of the Promotions, Joiners and Leavers press release as it relates to this contract thread: "The Royal Ballet welcomes five dancers to the Company for the 2014/15 Season as part of the new Aud Jebsen Young Dancers Programme. The programme provides an opportunity for up to six recently graduated dancers to receive a year’s contract to work alongside the corps de ballet of The Royal Ballet. In addition the dancers will be offered mentoring and coaching and have the opportunity to perform with the Company. This year’s Aud Jebsen Young Dancers are Grace Blundell and Grace Horler, both from The Royal Ballet School, Ashley Scott and Ashleigh McKimmie from English National Ballet School and Maria Barroso from Semperoper Ballet, Dresden."

  6. Some casting has also been announced for Age of Anxiety. Laura Morera and Steven McRae are doing November 7, 8 (eve) 14 and 17. Other dates still TBC http://www.roh.org.uk/productions/the-age-of-anxiety-by-liam-scarlett
  7. The TBCs are now on the ROH website. Lauren Cuthbertson is doing all performances of 5 Brahms Waltzes and Natalia Osipova will be Federico Bonelli's partner in Month in the Country: http://www.roh.org.uk/mixed-programmes/scenes-de-ballet-five-brahms-waltzes-in-the-manner-of-isadora-duncan-symphonic-variations-a-month-in-the-country
  8. I was able to access it earlier today. I haven't had time to watch it yet but it seems to play without any problem. Maybe it's the browser you're using,Alison? Edited to add that I've just checked it again and I'm still able to play it. I'm using Google Chrome.
  9. There's a list on the Odeon website but there aren't many cinemas in or near London - just the two Alison has already mentioned (Covent Garden and Swiss Cottage) plus one in Barnet. Maybe more will be added later? To see the list, click on 'select a cinema' and you'll get a drop down list of the cinemas concerned. http://www.odeon.co.uk/films/mariinsky_on_screen_la_bayadere_live/15245/ Edited to add that Vue Cinemas have a page with a similar drop down list but I can't, at the moment, see any in your part of London. http://www.myvue.com/latest-movies/info/film/la-bayadere-live-from-mariinsky-festival#
  10. What a treasure trove! I've just had a quick look and found that these archives also contain most of the ballet section of The Queen's Silver Jubilee Gala from 1977: http://www.chicagofilmarchives.org/collections/index.php/Detail/Object/Show/object_id/9215 Symphonic Variations with Jenner, Park, Penney, Coleman, Eagling and Wall; Ashton's Hamlet Prelude with Fonteyn and Nureyev; MacMillan's Gloriana Choral Dances with Seymour and Eagling and La Valse with Mason, Parkinson, Drew, Jefferies and MacLeary. Many thanks, Victoria Page, for drawing our attention to this archive. Edited for accuracy
  11. Thanks, Beryl. Here's the link to the casting: http://www.roh.org.uk/productions/the-concert-by-jerome-robbins Edited to add that, for each performance, there is one principal role yet to be announced. I've copied and pasted below the current casting as it appears on the ROH website. · Saturday 31 May 2014, 7pm | Wordsworth Clark Cuthbertson Wilkie Morera Gartside TBA · Thursday 5 June 2014, 7.30pm Wordsworth Clark Whitehead Arestis Hay Lamb TBA · Friday 6 June 2014, 7.30pm Wordsworth Clark Gartside Cuthbertson Wilkie Morera TBA · Tuesday 10 June 2014, 7.30pm Wordsworth Clark Arestis Hay Lamb Whitehead TBA · Thursday 12 June 2014, 7.30pm Wordsworth Clark Gartside Hay Morera Hamilton TBA · Friday 13 June 2014, 7.30pm Wordsworth Clark Cuthbertson Wilkie Gartside Morera TBA
  12. There appear to have been more changes since last night as the cast change page has just been updated: http://www.roh.org.uk/news/cast-changes-serenade-sweet-violets-dgv-mixed-programme
  13. Is this what you mean, Alison? http://issuu.com/sadlerswells/docs/sadlerswells_autumn_14_brochure
  14. Original casting is here: http://www.balletcoforum.com/index.php?/topic/5563-mariinsky-ballet-to-visit-london-in-2014/?p=83177 I've had a quick look at the current casting and have noticed that, in addition to the changes mentioned by Beryl, Matvienko and Parish are no longer doing the last Swan Lake on Thursday 14th August. Kondaurova and Askerov are now listed for that performance. There might well be other changes but that's all I have time for at the moment. Maybe somebody else might like to check the rest of the casting.
  15. Thanks for letting us know about this, Aileen. Here's the link: http://www.judithflanders.co.uk/wheeldon-winters-tale-enb-lest-they-forget-brb-pagodas/

  17. Takahashi danced Swanilda during ENB's last Coppelia run at Sadler's Wells (around 10 years ago?) ........as did Elena Glurdjidze. I remember seeing them both.
  18. I remember she did the Summer Fairy in Cinderella but can't think of anything else. Can anyone remember another Ashton role?
  19. Here's the casting for the other mixed bill. Hope there are no typos this time! Ceremony of Innocence TBC/Watson/Sambé November 7, 8 (eve), 14 and 17 TBC Nov 8 (mat) and 13 Aeternum Nuñez/Bonelli/Kish Nov 7, 8 (eve) 14 and 17 Calvert/Hirano/Underwood November 8 (mat) and 13 Age of Anxiety TBC
  20. Sorry. That was a typo. I've just corrected it. Yanowsky/Pennefather are doing the 18th and not the 22nd.
  21. My ROH Magazine has just arrived. Here is the casting for the Ashton Bill: Scènes de Ballet Lamb/McRae October 18, 28 November 4 and 11 Choe/Zucchetti October 22, November 5 and 12 Symphonic Variations Nuñez/Golding October 18, November 4, 5 , 11 and 12 Hamilton/Muntagirov October 22 and 28 Month in the Country: Yanowsky/Pennefather October 18, November 5 and 11 TBC/Bonelli October 22 and 28, November 4 and 12 5 Brahms Waltzes on all dates: TBC
  22. I don't think there is one. I remember being surprised that nobody started a thread on Friends' booking day. I do, however, seem to remember that there were some comments on Friends' booking in another thread. I'm afraid I don't remember which thread it was.
  23. Mine also arrived this afternoon and I notice that it was labelled "TNT post" but also had another label stating "delivered by Royal Mail". It didn't come with our other Royal Mail delivery and it made me wonder if the delay in receiving our BRB Friends' mailing was due to this unusual setup.
  24. The White Cat last night was Elsa Goddard who has excelled in this role throughout the run. Her comic timing is without equal and she's my favourite of all the White Cats I've seen over the years. I would add that she has served the Company consistently over the last 6 or 7 years and it's a pity she hasn't been given more opportunities. As for Florestan and his sisters, the original castsheet listed Hristov, Harrod and Stix-Brunell. There was a cast slip to say that Yasmine Naghdi was replacing Lizzie Harrod but there was no indication that Melissa Hamilton would be replacing Beatriz Stix-Brunell. Finally I would echo Don Q Fan's view of Yuhui Choe's Aurora - an outstanding performance.
