  1. How did your DS's audition go today? Well I hope! Thinking about it for our little DS in the future and although have done it all with DD a while ago, was wondering if it's a different experience for boys.
  2. Yes there was a pointe class last year but I don't think all the groups did it. Hope that helps.
  3. Oh fine. I'll stop checking! Thank you.
  4. Hello all! Does anyone know when the new LCB production and audition details will go on the website. We have been checking daily recently and thought it had been announced earlier in previous years. Any information would be fab!
  5. ...And if she is going into Year 6 in September she could audition for MAs (Mid associates) or even White Lodge... Good luck!
  6. We're in Covent Garden today and the place is swarming with prospective JAs! Good luck all of you! Have fun!
  7. What a fascinating thread! In our family everyone tries ballet as Nanny and Grandad were both ballet dancers, in fact Grandad still shuffles around at the back of the stage at nearly 80! However it has only been oldest dd and youngest ds who adore it. Youngest ds wants to be a Nutcracker soldier. Non dd and ds in middle gained so much from their ballet years though, especially non ds. I think all boys should give it a go!
  8. Congratulations all. Lema I remember your roller coaster last year, hope it ends up with a high this year! So sorry about your near miss Neil, hopefully your ds will hit the jackpot somewhere else.
  9. My little ds (only six and teeny) did the RAD Nutcracker children's workshop yesterday and absolutely loved it. How they got him to concentrate and focus for two hours is a mystery! The parents' presentation was great too. Such a good experience. I'd wholeheartedly recommend it to other little dc. Would be especially super to see some more boys!
  10. Oh, so sorry to hear that Primaballerina1. Is your dd ok? Hopefully it'll be a yes for the next thing. Was that an email or letter? We still haven't heard but assume it must be a no now. Thanks to all of your good wishes!
  11. Thanks everyone. Hopefully we'll hear tomorrow, otherwise we'll phone the office on Monday. We did apply by post and are an R surname, so we'll see! Fingers crossed to everyone.
  12. Has anyone received a 'no' yet? (Email or letter) We've heard nothing yet and are on tenterhooks! Thanks Flora11
  13. Hello all, My dd is attending this in a few weekend's time. Has anyone got any details through, eg start times, kit required etc? We are keen to firm up arrangements. I wondered of we'd missed an email. Thanks Flora11
  14. There were definitely some in November, 18th or 19th perhaps. But I have a feeling some were even earlier. If you phone up, the admissions lady was absolutely lovely and very accommodating when I was trying to ensure I could take my dd on my non working day. Good luck!
  15. Yes, we're all hooked in this house too! How thrilling for your dd Annaliesey! Hope she has a wonderful time at Regionals. Doubt my dd will be successful now but will keep fingers crossed!
  16. My dd is a huge fan and applied but we haven't heard anything back so assume she wasn't successful. How did you hear about regionals? Email? We'd love to hear of some successes!
  17. Hi Happymum, I've just been on the Tring Park website and the Kick-Start programme is happening next year! I think details must have only just gone up. Sadly my recently started but very keen DS will be too young. It says 8+ .
  18. Hello all, I am so enjoying this thread with all the nail biting! Good luck to all yr dc. I had no idea of this forum when dd auditioned for JAs (how can it be 4 yrs ago?!) so it was a complete surprise when letter arrived. I think it might be much worse knowing others have results and yours must be on the way! Thank you all for sharing your news. Hope we hear of more yeses today.
  19. Super news Petalviolet! You dd will be busy next year! As for the JA auditions back in the day before emails (well 4 years ago now) I phoned up to find out the time of my dd's audition as I was twitchy I hadn't heard, to be told she was in the 'Rising 8's' group (as she was still 7, not 8 until the August) and so was in the very last audition of the Friday sessions. So I reckon age is a factor too. Good luck to yr dd, she'll a pro at auditions by then! (Also I find the Pret near Cov Garden tube station is very lovely for a hot choc and Brownie!) Seriously though good luck to all those auditioning. Such an exciting time!
  20. Actually in London there is one fortnightly mixed girls and boys class Yrs 4 and 5 plus two single sex weekly Yrs 4 and 5 classes then one fortnightly mixed girls and boys Yr 6 class and two single sex weekly Yr 6 classes. Six JA classes in all. So boys can either be in mixed or all boy classes. Same with the girls. Hope that makes sense!
  21. Hello all, thanks for all the support, lovely ideas about other associate schemes and fantastic success stories. I think for my dd though this may be the point that ballet becomes a passion to pursue recreationally. She is off to the Tring Easter course on Monday and is counting down the days!
  22. A no for my dd for London too. She wasn't surprised but it does feel like the end of an era. Congratulations on all the yeses and SWLs.
  23. Hi Busymum, The London Year 4/5 mixed girls and boys class is at 12.15 and we used to see boys from the Year 4/5 boys only class around, so they must be at a similar time. I'm sure someone on the forum knows! ...
