  1. Oh Lema, I do feel for you. We had all no's/ waiting lists last year and it's very hard. This year (for Year 8 entry) it has been easier despite some more no's. Still waiting on MAs but no expectations. Dd is a lot more relaxed and enjoying exploring other avenues. Things have a way of working out for the best even if it does not seem that way at the time. Congratulations to all the yeses. Very exciting times!
  2. Hello all, I don't think it will be this week. Last year we heard over the Easter holidays! It was torturous!
  3. Hi balletqueen, we were told last year that, in London at least, there is a Year 7/8 class and a Year 8/9 class and therefore there is a chance of getting a Year 8 place even if they missed out on a Year 7 one. (Like my dd!) I think it's a matter of fingers crossed though, there are so few places!
  4. My dd (aged 11) is also going for the first time and is extremely excited. She is asking me daily about details, I hope email arrives soon! Great to have some information, Happymum, thanks.
  5. Congratulations Lema and all other yeses. Exciting times ahead for so many of you! Will be fascinating to follow your dc's journeys!
  6. Congrats Happymum! Poor you Lema, still waiting! The waiting is the worst bit!
  7. Thank you so much Lema. Any news for your dd? Were you London too? And your dd Happymum? Surely Bath results are out? More crossed fingers!
  8. Thanks to all your support! Congratulations to all yeses. We got a Selected Waiting List for Summer School too! About 20 minutes after the WL no. Too much in one day! I feel quite exhausted! Keep smiling everyone!
  9. Well it's a no for my dd from WL. Was not surprised as she didn't feel it had gone amazingly but of course disappointed. Has anyone else heard? We auditioned in London for a Year 8 place.
  10. Congratulations to all those yeses! Fantastic news for all. comiserations for the nos, we've had plenty of those! Balletqueen, as Zacharovitti said, an invite to Year 8 finals is a huge achievement. Had she auditioned last year too? Just wondered if she'd been to finals before. My dd auditioned for Year 7 last year and did not make finals, this year she seems even more determined but I suspect it'll be another 'no'.
  11. Hi Lemongirl, My dd is doing this too and we have no time yet either. I suspect we'll get information in the New Year. Best wishes.
  12. Hi Zacharovitti and all, yes we got the same email with the same audition time! Dd is v excited! We think it's a good time, not too early or too late! We are really looking forward to our day in London too, you will have a super time staying for a few days.
  13. Pleasure! We will be there on 18th too, my dd also trying for Year 8.
  14. No don't do that!! The preliminary auditions (for all age groups) are held at the Royal Ballet Upper School in Covent Garden, Central London so you'll need a Central London hotel. Only the final auditions for the Lower School take place at White Lodge in Richmond Park. Good luck!
  15. I'm on tenter hooks now HappyGirl! Has your letter arrived?! Best wishes.
  16. Hi Happygirl, don't worry. When we applied three years ago I ended up phoning as I hadn't heard a fortnight before half term and was worried. The lovely lady on the phone reassured me and told me as my dd was what they classed as a 'rising 8' she was in the very last batch of auditionees on the very last day of auditions. Our letter arrived exactly two weeks before that date! Good luck! It's a great experience.
  17. Posted at the same time Nancy21! What a shame. Will let you know what audition process is like so your dd knows what to expect in November. Good luck exploring other avenues too.
  18. Hi balletmum20, thanks that's v reassuring. Dd has never auditioned there before so don't know what to expect. She is v excited though.
  19. Hi Nancy21, did Tring CBA get in touch with you regarding auditions or had you not applied yet? We applied a few weeks ago but haven't heard anything yet. I could not see a closing date on the website. Many thanks, Flora11
  20. It's SWL for my dd too for London centre. (Just got back from hols to find letter!) Does anyone know of any girls who are going to decline an MA offer for London? Wondering if there will actually be any movement on the SWL! Well done to all those with yeses.
  21. Oh my goodness. Now I'm nervous! Isn't all this waiting awful? Good luck all.
  22. Maybe we'll get our letters tomorrow? Our JA letter came on a Saturday ....!
  23. Thanks everyone for all the tips. Makes the waiting a bit easier! Good luck to those being appraised and those awaiting results.
  24. Thanks very much Thequays. Very happy to be here.
  25. Hi Nancy21, my daughter auditioned in London on January 26th. It seems like a long time ago now! I thought they'd mentioned Easter but wasn't sure. Next week seems very soon though! What year is yr daughter? Mine is Year 6 at the mo, I think the MA classes are mixed year groups though. I'm sure there are forum members who know more. . .
