  1. good luck swanprincess, hope you get good news today x
  2. Would just like to add my congratulations to your son Celib, what a wonderful experience and achievement. I have also enjoyed your commentary on how the competition works, some real insider info!! I wish your son well in the next stage of his journey, sounds like he has a promising future ahead of him. WF
  3. hello Aurora 345, I know some letters were quite late in arriving but all the dc I knew who auditioned have heard....it may be worth phoning the school? Best of luck, try not to worry
  4. Thank you so much Meggy13, that was very kind of you to share. Hopefully we will all get good news tomorrow, I certainly didn't mean to infer my dd and her friends necessarily expect finals, they were just a bit gunked (is that a word!) when they thought all the yes letters were out as when you are still waiting to hear, there is always hope - no news is good news as they say! Best of luck to you all, my lesson learnt this weekend, don't listen to gossip and keep positive, we have a long road ahead!
  5. Thanks Kat09 but not my dd who has got finals, she is one of the ones till waiting to hear and in a panic! Thank you for post will tell her, might make her feel better, yes good luck to all, it is such a stressful time! And congratulations of course to the lucky yes's who may have heard today!
  6. Have heard of a yes for Finals for ENBS today, rumour amongst DD's peer groups seems to be the yes for finals hear first followed by the no's,...can anyone from last year confirm or otherwise? I know of many lovely dancers who have heard nothing today and are now panicking!
  7. Wow, that is good news, thanks for brightening up my day!!
  8. I read it as we will hear after 30 Jan....that's the funny thing about emails, we can all interpret them different ways!
  9. In the past, the results usually come out after the preliminary auditions are complete and then in order of audition centre but that was when it was by post, I believe this year it will be by email so maybe slightly different. Good luck everyone, the waiting is the worst bit! I'm not looking forward to the result by email, at least with a letter you could relax once the postie had gone whereas by email, I'll be twitching every time by phone pings!
  10. How lovely, that must surely be the definition of 'to be successful in dance', to come back after an injury and op and have your mum in the audience! Have a wonderful time!
  11. Cheap and clean, ibis formerly known as Etap never let us down, parking is reasonable and is easy 10 min walking distance if don't have transport. Also easy walking distance to restaurants in Mailbox and city centre Edited to correct spelling and add info!
  12. On line sounds like a nightmare! Especially the photos, not looking forward to that! So if the applications are purely on line, does that do away with the need to get a signature of approval from your dc's current dance school/ teacher?
  13. Sophia, hope your dd got on well today starting at Elmhurst and hope you are not missing her too much! Would be very interested to hear what you thought of their new 6th form accommodation, it sounds lovely
  14. Regettah, try contacting Young Dancers Academy. I believe their boarding accommodation is being used by some students doing ENBS SS and they may still have spaces. Best wishes to your younger daughter
  15. Thank you Petunia, shall have a look!
  16. Does anyone have experience of Hamberg Ballet School or the John Cranco School in Stuttgart? I'm pretty sure a forum member had a dd auditioning for Hamburg this year, would love to hear about it! Hope I've posted qu in the right place! Thank you Edited for spelling mistake!
  17. Heather Small - Proud (what have you done today to make you feel proud?) not quite sure of proper title!
  18. My DD's love getting letters and postcards, Paperchase do a range of fun postcards for 60 p each, they change designs all the time, DD's decorate their room with them. When they tidy their rooms at end of term they put them in a scrap book to look at when they are homesick! We then start again each new term!
  19. Application in the post! Big thank you to Linda for promptly answering a query I had, much appreciated. Sounds like it will be a super Masterclass, good luck all!
  20. Look forward to that NL, we are hoping to see them in Cambridge. Ex student of our local dance teacher is performing, she joined Central upper school from their associate programme, so will be amazing to see her!
  21. A few years ago my littlest dd, watching her big sisters practise their JA metatarsal exercises decided to have a go and proudly shouted out "Mummy, come and see my mini turtles". Been known as mini turtle exercises ever since!
  22. Congratulations to all, it's a lovely time, I can remember both my dd's yes letters like it was yesterday - bit like childbirth, you never forget! Good luck to all still waiting, fingers crossed for SWL - it does happen.... and for the No's - we all say it and it is true - it's not no, but not yet! Edited for typo!
  23. RBS does not approve of all the stretching - I may have said before but at a workshop RBS held to prepare the JA's for the WL/MA audition, they were all quite firmly told that the Royal did not want to see any of their JA's stretching as a warm up. A group of girls (non - associates) were indeed told off for stretching as it would be included at the audition class at the appropriate time after they were warm. So inside information - your dc's will get more brownie points by being seen not to stretch!! I've had 2 dd's as Royal associates and neither of them could do splits when they auditioned, it didn't hold them back. Try not to worry too much over it, relax and enjoy the day. Good luck to all
