  1. Given the companies share the same founders, I think "sister company" is historically and stylistically accurate.
  2. May have been agreed after that PR came out (and don't forget it came out earlier than usual).
  3. As a result of all the rain recently, play at Wimbledon is scheduled for "middle Sunday". Tickets will only be bookable online and details will be announced at 1 o'clock today (Saturday).
  4. Order of play for tomorrow will be available later today.
  5. I'm off to centre court again tomorrow (but I'll be in the back row this time, so no need for shades).
  6. The Bolshoi and the Mariinsky do all three acts. Can be found on YouTube.
  7. Can't we just leave this forum for dance? I'm a qualified lawyer but I'd rather leave my job where it is and discuss dance on this forum.
  8. The third movement of the "Classical" is used as a gavotte in R&J (in the MacMillan production, it's the second "set" dance at the ball, after Romeo has met Juliet).
  9. Yes, this casting info was all available a few weeks ago (patrons and senior friends having already booked), including Hayward and Sambé (I've checked my booking script from last week to make sure). Zucchetti was scheduled to dance Colas last season but was injured and did not dance.
  10. I can't think of any direct quotes of one in another, but they were both composed at the same time (1944) so it's not surprising the sound world is similar.
  11. I'm pleased to note that two of the dancers joining as Artists in September went through White Lodge and RBS Upper School.
  12. Last year there were tweets from Wimbledon that the queue was full by, IIRC, 0600. I've given up queuing now but fondly remember the days when, with two queues, one could arrive at the shorter queue at 0630 in week 1 and get a centre court ticket!
  13. Not quite a promotion, but today's Times mentions (with a photograph) that the current Aud Jebsen dancers all have permanent contracts with the RB.
  14. I'd have recommended seeing Bennet Gartside who brings a different but valid and exciting interpretation to the role, but he's done his shows now.
  15. It has been like that since the first performance (and Alice is similarly set out).
  16. Door 1 used to be the stage door, but they renumbered the doors when the new south porch was added. The south porch is now door 12, the stage door is no longer numbered and the old door 2 became door 1 (and so on and so on). Patrons should still be able to access door 1 from inside the building to see the tutus so it doesn't really matter which door one uses to enter the building.
