  1. What about inviting people into the building who might be curious about it, and may end up attending a performance?
  2. There will be a new "flexible" combined box office and cloakroom where the box office and cloakroom used to be. There will also be a new cloakroom at amphi level.
  3. My understanding (having not visited either facility...) is that there are 50% more in the new ones.
  4. Well, yes; it would be very difficult to comment in 1974 on something that didn't come into being until after then. Having said that, the overall structure of the 3 act piece and the vast majority of the choreography remains unchanged and so I would say that her comments remain valid.
  5. Your final sentence is rather ambiguous. Just to be clear, Croce is referring to the three-act version of Anastasia.
  6. I think it's his first time at ROH. He is Principal Conductor of Hamburg Ballet so I suspect the answer to the second question is yes (even if he is extremely noisy in the pit)!
  7. I was meant to be there but am stuck at work so at least I should be able to see it online later
  8. I shall be watching Anastasia at the ROH, so I suppose I'll be rooting for Anna Anderson.
  9. Click on the "image" button (below the smiley face)
  10. If you are running classes without adequate insurance in place, I would suggest you speak to a solicitor as you may not have the protection you think you do just from signed disclaimers.
  11. Rudolf, please; he's a crown prince (and archduke), not a reindeer.
  12. I think that the more disparate the sub-forums become, the more difficult the site becomes to use. I also note that this sub-forum refers to ballet/dance. On borderline performances, who decides whether it's ballet or dance? And when it comes to it, I really don't see why it matters - as one of my tutors often said: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
  13. It might be reality, but this is a board about dance so I'd appreciate it if you didn't get political.
  14. Flower etiquette at the ROH is much less formal than in NYC or Moscow. In short, there's pretty much none, other than "no flowers on stage if there are none for the leading lady". Sensible not to include open lilies (or ensure the stamen are cut off if open) and, if the flowers are to go on stage, not to have a cellophane water "bulb". A flat presentation bouquet is nice (but needs to be quite large to have an impact) though hand-tied bouquets are more prevalent these days (and easier to arrange in a vase). Flowers delivered to stage door will get to their recipient, provided they are in the house. If they have a performance, they will usually be presented on stage (see above). Most dancers take all their flowers home, but a few will give bouquets away if they receive a significant number (I have been a lucky recipient in the past). I would note that Bloomsbury Flowers will deliver for free to ROH stage door and they will prepare a bouquet appropriately for going on stage (they also know the floral preferences of most of the RB females!). Other florists are, of course, available.
  15. Though the black swans you see in NZL are really Australian black swans...
  16. This thread is getting very unpleasant. Be nice or I'm closing it.
