  1. I can't fault the academic staff at Hammond! They are amazing!
  2. Ahh fabulous. Your post made me smile. I remember sitting downstairs listening to all the jumping upstairs! And the doorbell - wherever we go and we hear that sound dd and I look at each other and smile cos it always reminds us of Centre Pointe! Ahhh happy happy times. Good luck all those auditioning ??
  3. I find the Living at the Hammond thread a fantastic help. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. A quick question and someone comes back with an answer. Its like our own little mini google haha!! Thanks guys its helping us a lot ??
  4. Totally agree with pas de quatre. I would contact them first. I know a few years ago we were on waiting list and I phoned and asked if we were likely to get a place! The answer was 'we try and match up children by age etc. So if a 12yr old dropped out then they would find another 12yr old to take the place in the room'. So they may be able to swop you like for like in the week you want! Its worth a try.
  5. Thats great Angel thank you. Will definately be going. Its so nice to go and see the school in action.
  6. Another quick question. Open Evening on Tuesday 9th May - is this just for prospective students or can anyone go? Is it like the Open Morning in October? Only don't want to be re-arranging my classes if we're not allowed to go!
  7. My dd also auditioned for yr 4 when she was 7. Got acceped and had the best 3 years ever. Happy happy times that we look back on fondly. Fabulous teacher in Manchester. We did JA for a day in London and said to our dd 'what a fabulous experience to have the chance to dance in fabulous studios and if this is the only thing you do it will have been amazing'. We said the same at the JA audition!. So enjoy the experience and as Flora11 said, have a ball!!
  8. Following on from my post above. I'm sure that when my dd did her IF exam at vocational school that they didn't wear soft pointes. So if you're dd wears them or not it won't make any difference to how she dances or what mark she gets. But she does have to feel comfortable in whatever she chooses to wear, be it softs or flats!
  9. Hi I would say let her use soft pointes with her teacher she is doing the exam with and get used to them and therefore do her exam in them. I'm pretty sure it wont affect her exam marks! And let her wear ballet flats with her private/associate teacher (assuming thats its an RBS JA teacher - surely shes not allowed to wear soft pointes for assiciate classes anyway!). Plus if anything like our JA teacher when dd was a JA they had to use full sole leather shoes which helps the children use the floor more and therefore strengthening the feet! That way it keeps both teachers happy! ??
  10. I'll definately report back for you. Soo looking forward to it!
  11. Just to say, Formal skirt and blue top sold but still have other items for sale.

  15. Just got to figure out how to download on Spotify so that I can use them haha! I am useless with technology!
  16. Fabulous! Will definately be getting these! Been after some contemp music for grades for ages. Its so hard to get music thats suitable. Thank you
  17. I usually say allow 6 weeks for results!! ? I noted of my calendar and we are looking at around 24th April ish for results! Hope that helps
  18. It depends on what net a tutu is made from. If its a softer net (and the tutus that people have already got are not being used again!) Wash it and it may droop more! Just a thought! I bought a number of beautiful burgandy tutus a number of years ago expecting them to be proper flat tutu's! But when they arrived they were very droopy (very soft netting). They are still beautiful now and look gorgeous on stage x
  19. I'm sure you've made the right decision Armydancer. Hammond is a fabulous school and I'm sure he will be very happy there.
  20. Wow this looks good! All under one roof. Definately one to consider for next year!
