Midland Theatre Ballet - Auditions for 2017/18 Season
Lildancer96 replied to pas de chat's topic in Doing Dance
We have nothing but praise for MTB and my dd did it twice before going to vocational school . It is a fantastic performance opportunity with an outstanding teaching faculty. -
My dd did this last year and as a result is now working in Austria - it is a fantastic summer school with an amazing faculty . There were some older students - my dd was 20 but there were older and younger of course. The show at the end is well worth visiting Munich and Salzburg for and it is set in a beautiful safe setting. Please feel free to pm with any questions.

They did performances at events organised and choreographed by Rosie Kaye who was the programme leader at the time. They also participate in events organised by dance exchange and do a summer showcase.

My dd did Birmingham CAT a few years ago - it was all day Sundays , inc a ballet class which was often taken by artists from BRB. The cost was covered by MDS and there were several performance opportunities.

Physique requirements prohibit talented dancers?
Lildancer96 replied to MrsSri's topic in Doing Dance
Never let one persons opinion deter your dreams. My dd doesn't have high arches, long legs or a short torso but she got funding at Tring and now has a ballet contract. That may be what they would look for in an ideal world but hard work and determination go a long way.- 54 replies

I think this is a common problem - my dd also secured a contract with a small company in London but has had to turn it down due to lack of pay. The cruise ship contracts do look a very attractive alternative and what a fantastic opportunity to see the world. Good luck to your daughter Tulip - I hope that she has a wonderful time x

I agree Anna - I think 9 stone is a healthy weight for a dancer over about 5 and half ft . I would hate to think that dancers were reading this and worrying about weight .

I'm sure there will be others from Tring going to gala that might be able to help
