  1. Wow ; have heard that Midland Theatre Ballet have Araminta Wraith and Max Westwell both from ENB teaching at their summer school. Anyone going to this is in for a real treat
  2. Can't remember which years details we submitted for dada but if its like student finance , you submit details for the previous year , not the one you are in now. We have just submitted a uni student finance application for sept and it was tax year 2012-13 that had to be submitted , not this year. Great if your income is increasing but not if going down .
  3. The dada assessment lasts throughout the 3 years - we have only had to submit details once .
  4. Tring do RAD classes on a Saturday morning too.
  5. I can't remember exactly where it was 2 years ago but it was near to Bushbury and you would have to take a train and then a bus to get to it. It may well be held in a different location this time though.
  6. We have just let place go on senior course so hopefully someone will get some good news on reserve list this week
  7. That's great news. We are booked for week 1
  8. Fab news spanner - your dd will love it. We will see you there xxx
  9. Glad you had a fab day and sorry I missed you this time - I agree - we watched ballet cups and it was fab xx
  10. Why is it annoying that a child from Elmhurst or Tring occasionally enters these competition ? Surely if they are within the age and grade range they are entitled to enjoy the experiences too ?
  11. So sorry to hear that - will message you later x x
  12. My dd had an mds at cat and it wasn't transferable to Tring !
  13. That is my understanding too but there isn't enough boarding places for all of Lower 6th; so some will have to find alternative accommodation.
  14. It is all down to individual personality and preference - boarding was full two years ago and we didn't have a choice but it has worked for us
  15. "That is an interesting idea but what if the student doesn't get on with the family or others staying there? I think it would be much harder than being at the school where there will always be more people around and 'places to hide'. and it wold also be harder for a parent who perhaps wasn't happy with the care being offerd to talk to an individual rather than the school. Not sure that would be an option for us!" Can't say this had ever been an issue for us - she is at school all day and only goes back to her lodgings for evening meal and bed. I guess it depends on individual personalities but I have never worried about her not getting on with anyone. We also find she gets more 'wrap around ' care - lifts to the station , flexibility on when she leaves or if she leaves for exeat and she loves the privacy of her own room
  16. Last year and this year my dd has lived with a host family who have 2 students pm me if you want any further info x
  17. Yes Tring boarding is about £1000 a month - we rent a room from a family in Tring for our dd and it is about half of the cost. Tring have a list of such alternative accommodation.
  18. Dada funding was previously means tested - always has been as far as I am aware but it was far more generous than it is now to those earning average wages . Full funding was only available to those earning less than 30, 000.
