  1. I wonder if Fumi will be his Beatrice or if Marianela might be cast, since she loves dancing with WB and got great praises for Woolf Works
  2. I think Claudio Coviello was 21 when he was promoted to principal at La Scala in 2013
  3. I'm surprised Francisco Serrano is still so down the ladder, I loved his Mercutio last year. Sissens is the one male first soloist who will 100% become principal, but they'll wait for him to gain more partnering experience before promoting him.
  4. Also, considering that Nunez has been doing several Onegins with Bolle lately I wonder if he'll return to play Des Grieux with her in Manon
  5. As a big fan of The Dante Project I'm exciting it's coming back and curious to see who will play Dante, considering that RB "lost" both Watson and Bonelli – unless Watson will be tempted back on stage so soon after retirement? The Ashton bills sound amazing and I'm particularly looking forward to Hamlet & Ophelia, surely with Bracewell & Hayward
  6. To be fair two things can be true at the same time. The seasons planned here are 100% more interesting than what we will end up with, but on the other hand they would probably tank any ballet company.
  7. The Australian Ballet is doing Jewels at ROH in early August too
  8. Cuthbertson & Polunin (which seems particularly tone deaf atm). I think the Cojocaru recording has Bonelli, so they might not want the same Prince in multiple versions
  9. She danced in La Bayadère in Rome a couple of weeks ago with Jacopo Tissi, her former colleague at Bolshoi. She's doing very well even without them!
  10. According to his IG, Leo Dixon is Evans tonight and Nicol Edmonds is Septimus
  11. It would be impossible, Tuesday loosely inherits only themes and structure from The Waves, but none of the plot. It's interesting to see that Matthew Ball is doing the Bonelli track, he works very well with Nunez
  12. Ignoring the various section-28-themed comments above, the entire event is in celebration of LGBTQ+ history month, and many children in attendance have LGBTQ+ parents themselves. The whole list of activities is available online. The description of "Letter to Tchaikovsky" is this: "Everyone should be free to live openly wherever they are in the world, is the message in dance duo T&T’s new piece, Letter to Tchaikovsky. Featuring first soloist of The Royal Ballet, JAMES HAY, this performance is inspired by the life of PYOTR ILYITCH TCHAIKOVSKY and the ‘Letter Scene’ in Onegin". So yeah, it's not Magic Mike for children.
  13. A lovely homage from Paris Ballet, which has lost two other great former étoiles in the past month: Attilio Labis and Michael Denard.
  14. According to his instagram, Calvin Richardson is making his debut as the Bluebird tonight alongside Melissa Hamilton
  15. Joseph Sissens made a lovely instagram post yesterday with his new wig design for the Sugar Prince
  16. After having seen his Romeo, I'd see Calvin Richardson in everything he does. There might be partnering skills to hone a little, but he'll be an extraordinary Rudolph.
