I am not sure if this has been shared elsewhere but Lincoln Centre YouTube channel has put up their "Live from Lincoln Centre" series, and this one is from 1978 with American Ballet Theatre in a selection of works from the repertory including Rebecca Wright, Marianna Tcherkassky and Ivan Nagy in Les Sylphides, Natalia Makarova and Fernando Bujones in the Act III Grand Pas de Deux from Don Quixote, Gelsey Kirkland and Mikhail Baryshnikov in Balanchine's "Theme and Variations" and to round off the show Cynthia Gregory and John Meehan in "The Firebird"

Another blast from Lincoln Center's 'dance-boom' past .... This one from perhaps happier ABT days ... replete with THAT T&V (Balanchine's magical Theme and Variations) stepping out of the vapours of 1978 replete with Baryishnikov and Kirkland. In the picture in the caption below you can see the wonderful Ivan Nagy - one of those partners who - like Dowell - could actually keep the magical Makarova ON the music - and who would later - albeit briefly - be a director of LFB/ENB bringing a certain Carlos Acosta (and Jose Manuel Correno) into this country's fold.

NEW YORK CITY BALLET As New York City Ballet continues to prioritize the health and well-being of our patrons, artists, staff, and the community at large, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Spring Season in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19. While we are deeply saddened that the Company’s artistry will not be seen on stage this spring, the current pandemic has left us with no other choice. The cancellation will include all performances and events, including the May 7 Spring Gala, as well as the Company’s public pro

Opening night was stunning. My words don't quite have the power to convey the feeling I had throughout - and after - the performance, but hopefully they will give you an idea of just how wonderful it was Hee Seo, Cory Stearns and Devon Teuscher are so perfectly cast. Here's my review.

So, just as Cunard and ENB are collaborating, so are Celebrity Cruises and ABT. Here's all the information I've put together so far. As I am also a travel agent, I am in contact with the cruise line directly to see if there is more information they will allow me to publish; I will update my article any time I get some new scoop!

I've just been reading Alastair Macaulay's review of ABT's "new" Sleeping Beauty as revised/restored by Ratmansky: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/11/arts/dance/review-ratmanskys-the-sleeping-beauty-has-premiere-in-california.html?ref=dance&_r=1 He sounds pretty taken with it. Would love to read feedback from anyone who's been to see it.

It is interesting to note that RB principals Osipova and Nunez will guest with ABT during their 75th Anniversary season. Osipova is dancing a huge part of the ABT repertory appearing in Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, the new Ratmansky - (i.e., the choreographer/director who first brought her to balletic prominence) - Sleeping Beauty and Makarova's La Bayadere which was, of course, created for ABT with Dowell as the opening Solar, It's almost as if she never left as an ABT principal herself as she has, in fact, more performances than some of their more long standing ABT residents (e.g., Part) and
