  1. For some reason, it's possible to get the view from A29 but not from A28 and lower. Here's the view from A29. Hope it helps: (Edited to add that I tried to post the link but I only succeeded in posting a second copy of the picture.)
  2. http://d33ex4wp0jsts.cloudfront.net/venues/main-stage/level-1-stalls-circle-1d/a-90-stage-view-1280x853.jpg
  3. Here's the link to the information on how to register for Welcome Performances: http://www.roh.org.uk/welcome-performances/welcome-performances-how-to-book NB They're only for people who've never before registered on the ROH website Edited to add that, after posting this, I discovered that the registration link does go to an error page. Maybe you need to get in touch with the Box Office and ask them to fix this.
  4. Edited to add the link to Saodan's excellent method of accessing seat views. You need to click on the top right arrow to reach the correct post in the thread. The only snag is that you need to know which door is used for any particular seat.
  5. I don't know which seat in row L you want. Here is a link to the view from L47 http://d33ex4wp0jsts.cloudfront.net/venues/main-stage/level-5-amphitheatre-5c/l-47-stage-view-1280x853.jpg
  6. Annette Buvoli replaces Claire Calvert as Myrthe: https://www.roh.org.uk/events/trka5 Edited to paste in tonight's full cast (my highlighting for cast change) Sorry about the font size. I've tried, unsuccessfully, to make it smaller. Maybe a moderator knows how? Giselle Lauren Cuthbertson Albrecht Federico Bonelli Hilarion Tomas Mock Wilfred Kevin Emerton Berthe Christina Arestis The Duke of Courland Thomas Whitehead Bathilde Gina Storm-Jensen Leader of the Hunt Bennet Gartside Pas de sixes Isabella Gasparini Benjamin Ella Mica Bradbury David Donnelly Charlotte Tonkinson Joseph Aumeer Myrtha Claire Calvert Replacement Myrtha Annette Buvoli Moyna Olivia Cowley Zulme Hannah Grennell
  7. I seem to remember that they announced a while ago that it was being filmed and would be streamed at a later date. Edited to add that 'camera filming' is mentioned on the event page on the ROH website: https://www.roh.org.uk/tickets-and-events/insights-ashton-rediscovered-details
  8. Will Bracewell is again scheduled for the 2022 cinema relay (with Lauren Cuthbertson) Edited to add that I'm basing that assumption on the fact that, according to the ROH website, the performance is scheduled to be transmitted live. He and Lauren Cuthbertson are listed as the cast for May 19, the day of the relay.
  9. Looking through this thread, I'm surprised that the wonderful Japanese dancers of ENB have not yet been mentioned. Erina Takahashi, Shiori Kase, Ken Sarahushi and Rina Kanehara have all given very special performances over the years and Emily Suzuki is on her way to joining them.
  10. Update below received today from the ROH Box Office: (Edited to ask if a moderator could please modify the title of this thread as it is now misleading.) "We are now applying an exchange fee of £4.00 per ticket for any tickets booked after 9am on the 19th October. Anything booked before that date will not incur the fee."
  11. This is a bit late but might be useful for those who are yet to watch the class. I've now had the original post confirmed: Back row left to right Maddison Pritchard and Denilson Almeida; Marianna Tsembenhoi and Marco Masciari Front row left to right Daichi Ikarashi and Olivia Findlay; Viola Pantuso; Ava May Llewelyn; Alix Van Tiggelen; Hanna Park and James Large
  12. It’s not up to date. This year’s young dancers are Olivia Findlay, Ava May Llewelyn, Viola Pantuso and Alix Von Tiggelen
  13. Have removed the names I posted so as to have time to get someone to confirm the names as it would be dreadful if I’d made any mistakes!
  14. I realise you're only joking, Sim, but it's possibly important to point out that, rather than a typo, it's a mistranslation of the Spanish: "....Un rol que adoro.......... he decidido volver a interpretarlo" If I've understood her correctly, she's saying that she's going to go back to the role rather than that she's going to reinterpret it. Perhaps a native Spanish speaker could confirm? Edited to add that I've just read the rest of the post and she does go on to say that she hopes that Monica will help her deepen her understanding of the role so it's very possible that I've also misunderstood the Spanish!
  15. I don't imagine Adès had any intention of quoting from Mayerling. It just so happens that the music of Liszt is the source for both Inferno and Mayerling. In a Times interview with Debra Craine earlier this month, he said the following about Inferno: “Well, Dante had Virgil to guide him through, I had Liszt,” ...... “And there couldn’t be a better guide to Hell than Liszt. The Dante Sonata that he wrote for piano is the beginning of my Inferno. I wanted it to be like ventriloquism — Liszt would be the dummy and I would speak through him. But it’s Liszt cubed and sometimes cubed cubed, and there are some numbers in Inferno where there is no Liszt at all.” Edited to add the link to the interview in The Times: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/thomas-ades-interview-dante-project-88nc96h8n
  16. This performance was originally listed as a Welcome Performance and tickets weren't on sale to the general public. It looks as if something went very wrong and they forgot to do anything about it. Virtually the whole house now appears to be on sale, including most of the stalls circle standing tickets!
  17. The e-ticket on my upcoming events definitely has the start time as 1.30pm. Edited to add that the error in your reminder might be connected to the current problems on the ROH website. So far today, I've received twenty-six emails, all of which contain the same October 20 Dante Project e-ticket!
  18. Good news: If you need to return ROH tickets, the Box Office is, currently, issuing gift certificates and they are not deducting an admin fee. They are also exchanging tickets without an admin fee. Edited to add that this does not depend on the returned ticket(s) being resold. i.e. they are issuing gift certificates even if they have a lot of unsold seats.
  19. https://www.fromtheboxoffice.com/city/2957-london/1DREL-raymonda/?utm_source=From+The+Box+Office+Newsletter&utm_campaign=c2ea625c13-Octoberfest+-+dance&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0ab28542ae-c2ea625c13-95581305&mc_cid=c2ea625c13&mc_eid=4ec52c2720 Edited to add that I don't know how this works. When I click on 'find tickets' the normal prices appear. I hope those who want tickets can get it to work.
  20. Have just arrived at Sadler’s Wells. There are now signs at all levels saying “Please be aware that this performance contains very loud music” I don’t remember seeing these signs yesterday. Did anyone who was here last night see them? If not, this is presumably ENB’s way of responding to the complaints.
  21. I don't think they're advertised as being available. Some time ago I found the taped sound for a performance so uncomfortably loud that I left, intending to go home. I told an usher why I was leaving and she gave me some earplugs and suggested I go back in and see if they helped. I managed the rest of the performance by inserting the earplugs AND putting my hands over my ears! Since then, I've always known to ask for them. As far as I know, they keep a supply at all the programme stands.
  22. I had similar problems with the sound levels in the last revival of Khan’s Giselle. I’m pretty sure that the music was not amplified in its earlier runs. When it was revived in 2019, the sound was amplified to such an extent that I left the auditiorium with severe earache. I wrote to complain and the response (below) confirms the comments DaveM made above: "Our Head of Sound has advised that the show artistically has been created with moments of high orchestral drama, and therefore the volume is of a louder nature than a traditional classical score. A good portion of sounds produced in this show do not come from the orchestra but from a computer, therefore the computer sounds and orchestral music is balanced to all sound correct leaving the loudspeakers rather than what is heard acoustically from the orchestra pit. Please also be assured, the sound levels were measured and are in line with the guidance set out by the Health and Safety Executive. This is not a Sadler’s Wells production, and therefore the intentions behind the way the music is presented to the audience will stem directly from choreographer, composer, conductor and then fed to the sound designer." It's interesting that earplugs are always available, free of charge, from the programme desks at Sadler's Wells. They clearly expect many of their shows to have over-amplified sound.
  23. Discussion of Creature on Radio 4 Today programme at the moment. If listening later, it comes just after 8.40am. Edited to add that it was very short and appeared to have been recorded before the first performance last night.
