  1. I have some very small tracksuit bottoms which will do as a spare pair. You can have for nothing.
  2. I emailed to ask the same thing and was told that the selection process has not taken place yet.
  3. And Elmhurst have loads more MDS than Tring to give out so there will be some movement 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
  4. I’ve only heard of year 7 and 8’s getting in from the reserve list, but that’s just my experience. I think they also have to replace like with like, as a lot depends on available boarding spaces, too.
  5. I know that in 2018 around five or six of DD’s classmates got an MDS off the reserve list for year 7 as others accepted places elsewhere. Hang in there 🤞🏻
  6. After researching, went for more expensive 5mm thickness rather than 3mm as less likely to distort. We had to hang it carefully too. There is a slight distortion, but due to our wonky walls rather than the mirror I think.
  7. When we put mirrors in DDs bedroom I bought an acrylic mirror sheet for safety as we live in an old wonky building and was worried about it smashing! A dot 2 dance mat is a good investment if you have carpets.
  8. Hammond lower school is shutting on Friday afternoon.
  9. Only downside I would say is that you can’t lend/give/sell It on afterwards like you can with a DVD.
  10. The content is no different, just having it as an app on her phone means DD can practise anywhere, not just where she can access a DVD player. So she used it whilst we were abroad on holiday for example. It’s also handy as she’s away at school so can practise privately in her room.
  11. DD has the app for Intermediate and she’s found it a great help and much better than having the DVD version.
  12. From what I can gather there will be an announcement today regarding UK schools. Seeing as vocational schools break up earlier anyway, I wonder whether they’ll be affected?
  13. Such a shame, but inevitable in the circumstances. I feel so sad for all the DCs who must have been looking forward to this so much xx
  14. @Bonnie2011 both Mirella leotards and also the Wear Moi Aqua with lace - are these available and can you send pictures? Many thanks
  15. We went for a bursary-funded place rather than a scholarship as you don’t have to attend an audition. DD is at vocational school so it would have cost £££ if I’d travelled to pick her up and take her to scholarship auditions, with no guarantee of even getting a paid-for place.
  16. Summer school results are out - DD has a yes for week one 🙂
  17. Hello again, thank you so much for the offer, but I think that it’s going to be too big around the waist. DD tried on her friend’s p/s tutu and it fell down! Discovered she has a toddler-sized 22 inch waist ...
  18. I’m really surprised at this and agree that it must be disheartening for those not greeted by name. I’ve helped out in the past with auditions (not RBS) where the helpers/audition panel didn’t overtly acknowledge children that were already known to them. This seemed very fair to me. Auditions are already so stressful that any feeling of uncertainty or not being as welcomed as others can’t fail to have some impact.
  19. Thanks so much! DD is back from school at the weekend so will measure her to make sure that size will fit and get back to you.
  20. DD needs a black practice tutu for her Intermediate exam, preferably Bloch Belle. She’s a very slim 12 year old so needs petite/extra small size. Trying to avoid paying £50 for a new one! 😩
  21. I have two leotards for sale: Black Capezio leotard size Child Medium. Style CC101 https://www.capezioeurope.com/princess-camisole-leotard Pale pink Mirella leotard size 8-10 years. Style M652C https://uk.blochworld.com/products/girls-mirella-lace-waist-tank-pink Both in good used condition and ideal for spring/summer school. £5 for both or £3 each plus postage.
  22. This sounds so up my DD’s street - I’ve just ordered it for her - thank you!
  23. Not central London, but EYB is also a good performance experience. DD got into LCB after dancing with EYB earlier that year and I really think it helped with her stage skills. You have to audition, but they give places to 40/50% so very good odds.
  24. No as I know that it’s even harder to get a summer place. DD was absolutely fine about it - it’s a bit of a running joke in our house that’s she’s blacklisted by RBS!
