  1. And don’t be disheartened if she has a wobble - after a RBS insight day DD decided she didn’t want to audition for year 4 JA despite really enjoying the experience. I stepped back from taking her to anything apart from a weekly Grade 2 class and a year later she decided to audition for year 5 ( she didn’t get in to JA, but went to associates elsewhere and is off to vocational school next week!).
  2. DD was an associate with them for two years, it was her favourite class to go to ( and I loved spending Sundays in Battersea Park).
  3. EYB are in the Evening Standard today, so fingers crossed that translates into a few more sales. They have a strong FB presence, but they definitely need to get on Instagram!
  4. I've got a tired and happy cygnet slumped on the sofa - glad everyone is enjoying it too! I'm 'recycling' last years t-shirt 😬
  5. Thanks both, DD has been twisting my arm about getting a satchel with a cactus print on it and am trying to persuade her to go for something a little less jazzy 😩
  6. Regarding school bags - I know they prefer dark colours, but do they have to be plain or can they be patterned?
  7. Last year Sunday rehearsals were at Herbal Hill, but the rehearsals during half term/ Easter hols were all over the place! Wayne McGregor in Stratford, pineapple in Covent Garden, Rambert and Jerwood on the Southbank.
  8. There were 56 in the 2018 main company and 48 doing the tour.
  9. The good thing is that the rehearsals are later, starting in March so the vocational auditions are pretty much over by then. DD had to do all her Lower School auditions, LCB rehearsals, plus keep up with associates and RAD lessons - it was an incredibly busy spring!
  10. So exciting. DD loved dancing in The Canterville Ghost and will be sad not to audition again this year. It’s such an amazing experience. The rehearsals are not at a set time every week for each child, so possible to do associates etc around them. Sometimes DD was needed from 1-3 or 4-6 or the whole afternoon. I think she had one Sunday off from January - April. Anyway, audition if you can, it’s so worth it!

  15. DD is a cygnet. She’s so excited, I’ve had countless demos of the steps she’s learnt so far - have only just managed to get her in bed!
  16. YDA sometimes take people mid-term. I would email to find out x
  17. Girls results came out on Tuesday 20th last year. I got DD’s year 6 result at 4.15pm.
  18. We couldn’t make the Induction Day today - please can people that did go let me know any details and if you got told anything new?Hammond said it was fine that we didn’t go ( DD away on a residential school trip). thanks x
  19. It can be quite daunting talking to dance teachers and school principles, but from my experience it always helps. For example, I couldn’t understand a few years ago why my daughter was in a grade with children a year or more younger than her, turned out the dance school had her birthday wrong. As she’s small for her age it wasn’t obvious, it was only when I discussed it with the teacher that the error came up. She was then moved up a grade!
  20. That’s brilliant - am so pleased for you xx
