  1. I’ve seen all types of girls offered places - my daughter is small and has a gymnasts build but never got offered a place! I don’t think there’s anyway one can analyse it. I think they just see a certain something they like?
  2. Age 10-12 white skirted Wear Moi leotard with YDA logo stitched on back. Only worn a handful of times as DD never properly grew into it. Very good condition - only thing is a small ‘pull’ in the skirt at the back but hardly shows. £10 + postage
  3. And don’t despair if it is a no, my daughter was never offered a Rbs JA place but successfully auditioned for vocational school. And friends of hers who were never JAs have now been given MA places. Xx
  4. Yes, it’s either yes, no or swl. Good luck to everyone waiting, such a stressful time I remember it well!
  5. Am pretty sure it’s always centre by centre, but am guessing that people tend to post about the ‘yeses’ more than the ‘nos’ ? Which is why it seems the nos haven’t come out yet?
  6. Oooh where is it? Not at home today ...
  7. I’ve had the skirt on eBay for a week without any interest from anyone - and someone has just bought it! Apologies if it was what you were looking for 😩
  8. I have a RAD character skirt with blue ribbons - it's 24 inch waist and 26 length. It's brand new, good quality and only worn once as I bought the wrong size! The button can be easily moved to adjust the waist size. £12 + £3 postage. Let me know if this suits x
  9. Yes, I saw on the Stardust website - how annoying! But she'll be happy to get something new
  10. Hiya, I'm looking to buy any spare/grown out of Hammond uniform suitable for a small Year 7 girl ( just checked her present school skirt and it's age 6 -7 so I think I'm going to be doing a lot of alterations!) In particular: Ballet leotard Tap/modern leotard Blazer Dance tracksuit Coat (is this compulsory btw?) Thanks x
  11. Friends of my DD who haven't got full box splits and struggled with other stretches have been shortlisted for JAs and then given MA places so it's not the be all and end all. In contrast DD has been down in all three splits since age 7, danced for London Children's Ballet and got a vocational school place - yet we've amassed a lovely collection of RBS 'no" emails over the years . I've known girls both tall and small offered JAs, the only thing I can see that they had in common was that they had a certain something that made you want to watch them dance! Good luck with the audition, DD always enjoyed it despite never being successful.
  12. DD has been doing her own hair since she was 9 purely because I left for work at 6.30am on one of her ballet days! After a few mornings of getting her up, doing her hair and sending her back to bed again, she started practising by herself. She used a donut to start with (only for class not exams or associates) and now is a whizz and FAR better than I ever was.
  13. DD has just sent her a WhatsApp - this is a great idea thank you!
  14. My DD is starting there in September - she says she'd like to say hello! I'll PM you x
  15. My DD does 3 hours RAD ballet, 1 hour festival rehearsals and 30 minutes pre-pointe strengthening at her local dance school during the week. Saturday associates is 3 hours and once a month Sunday associates 2 hours. So between 7.5 and 9.5 hours a week. Added to that we’ve had LCB every Sunday since Christmas, which is between 2-5 hours. It’s been amazing, but DD has had very little downtime at weekends so I would say for us that keeping under 10 hours is ideal at the moment. Having said that, if we have a weekend without any dance (which is rare) I have to make sure she gets some sort of activity else she’s bouncing off the walls! She is 10.5 and going to Hammond year 7 in September.
  16. I’ve just seen someone on FB get funding for Hammond - they’d been offered a bursary but couldn’t afford it - and suddenly an MDS appeared for them! So lovely - I think it might have been your DD’s that’s been passed on.
  17. London MA results are out - just got our expected 'No". I think the RBS admin staff must roll their eyes when DD's name comes up AGAIN! Fingers crossed for those waiting xx
  18. I was told that even though DD will probably be starting with a bursary, she (and everyone else on one) will be considered for a MDS when they come up for grabs.
