  1. Which did you get? The regular or what they call the premium? The latter is what I am awaiting; I spoke & it has a certain thickness ‘shock absorbing’ cushioning....
  2. I think I paid £124.....delivery 2-3 days....so you’ve scored a better deal! How did you find that company as the name isn’t one you’d think of for dance flooring!! Hope it comes Monday & will post DD’s verdict!
  3. Ha - so many ‘brands’/suppliers suddenly emerging once we look for emergency homeschool flooring! The second link looks the identical product (& I think price though could not tell how much delivery cost would be without putting in info...) to one I just ordered from danceandstage.co.uk following recommendation from forum contributors (I think in Q about flooring in for sale/wanted section?) I ordered 2m x 2m & it should arrive mon/tues next week. If you can hold off ordering I’m happy to give you our verdict on product after first days use! I’ll be gutted if I could’ve got it cheaper.... The company I used were very helpful when I called with Q’s...
  4. In addition could try The Dancers Room, Lichfield Dancing Boutique, Tunbridge Wells Dancemania, Poole Dancique, Birmingham not 100% sure all stock GM but gives you a few more to try as you are looking for a specific shoe from stock...am sure all will be doing mail out - I’ve certainly had quick service & items posted out by the first 3 suppliers in the recent past. Good luck!
  5. A good idea in advance (though be wary of Summer growth spurts!)is buy in 2 sizes to return or swap the one that doesn’t fit! Becky always happy for that in our experience
  6. Am pretty sure it would need to be the regulation school ones.... only available from school supplier. I’m guessing this is the cap sleeve modern leotard? Look on school website as am sure there will be images somewhere of relevant year groups wearing relevant uniform items
  7. Please tell me it’s a static bike....or is your dining room one of those long galleries I jested about earlier Pups Mum???!!! Loving the image of the 14 ducklings & protective mother Duck....& you are right, we can all count our blessings as I’m sure we will all have it better than many others.... in lockdown & in ‘normal’ times.
  8. That would be great Dr Dance - thank you! Good luck with classes & your empathy from a teacher perspective in another thread was much appreciated xx
  9. My DD was horrified to see an old Sylvannian Families toy (one I’m ‘keeping for the Grandkids’...?!) was her backdrop! This had to get quickly moved!! 🤣
  10. Thank goodness for the little moments of humour we can share on here! Thank you all!
  11. Length of room gonna be key here!! If only we had a ‘Long Gallery’ or Ballroom.....🤔
  12. I checked out & only £6! Quite low stock, so I’ve acted on your recommendation Dr Dance (in advance of a deluge of Balletic forum orders!) & have ordered 2 as think could help with online music lesson for son too...🤞🏻
  13. A few years ago I heard of a girl getting the call with offer of MDS year 9 place (I think) literally on first day of term as another has a last minute change of heart.... this in turn freed up an MDS place at another vocational school so there were 2 happy outcomes....it’s quite usual for new starters (& occasionally drop outs) during first few weeks of Sept terms at all schools! Keep the faith & good luck all xx
  14. This made me laugh! The ‘junk room’ has been reorganised with now precarious stacked high ‘stuff I really must sort & get rid off... The light fitting has been a concern as have seen it wobble after a grand battement a la seconde on more than one occasion now!
  15. I’m really rubbish about tech... so, if a student clipped this over ipad or phone it would enable wider/longer/more full body view for teacher taking online class & also if using phone etc to record video/take photos? Could I be cheeky & ask if there is any way Dr Dance you could post a link to a demo photo/video - without then with gadget to see the difference it makes as I’m more confuddled than Confuddled!! Thanks in advance....
  16. The one year in ages when there’s a good likelihood of waitlist places becoming available & didn’t make the wait list!! (Really bad photos that didn’t look like her tbh....so knew it’d be a no when I did Form! Yet got wait list for Adv Assoc so clearly looked better in real life 🤣) So firstly 🤞🏻🤞🏻all goes ahead & hope lots on here get happy news from wait list!
  17. That letter does seem strangely uninformstive detailing merely that it is a standard process that they will follow.... doesn’t really offer any specific guidance or indication to families waiting. I do not know if this differs from previous years overall. I do recall the Bursary finance forms were very in depth, quite personally invasive & made one feel a little ‘second class citizen’ .... much more so than the government led MDS forms & info required. This did also vary slightly over the years... What seems odd is the statement that they do not have a scholarship or bursary fund....so what are they calling the fee assistance & from what ‘pot’ of money will this be sourced from? Seems very unclear....names unfamiler to me (I know there have been lots of staff changes in all areas) I will say that time there was well worth it as were the family financial sacrifices & we have no regrets! Good luck to all awaiting decisions etc xx
  18. Hang in there.... I suspect with this lockdown & lack of usual physical activity & peer & teacher engagement (what online provision they can/do access is great but in no way a like for like substitute...) by our DC’s there will be lots of mood swings/self criticism/motivation loss/negativity/self doubt (bit rnough about me....!!!!🤣) Seriously though, they are in the middle of what year on year is an expected tough time for this year group but with the added intensity of ‘all change’; the oppression of just being home with the same people for company (who mean well bit let’s fsce it teen/parent relationships again are traditionally challenging!) & too much spent in just their own company with their own thoughts.... I think (hope) schools/colleges are anticipative of this & the added future needs for support our young people will need as they progress in their chosen training routes.... And also that they are truly aware of the anxiety where options are still not all firmed up & can swiftly move to make offers where they can so that families can have something to work with. 💜💜to all
  19. I think there can often be movement from wait lists right up to & even in first few weeks of term.... eg. you do get occasional places at full time vocational schools come up at start of term....which then may mean a reserve list then gets an offer of full time which in turn could make an associate place free up.... On occasion, some change their mind about joining/boarding etc, a very occasional one may drop out of full time voc or of associate scheme after they start too for individual reasons so you just never can tell!
  20. This recent sharing of experience is I’m sure really going to be helpful to many on here with decisions to make - thanks!
  21. Also had the tendu thread.... dance dhops often sell it... a largish ‘ball’ so lasts ages! my DD uses that to sew in ribbons/elastics big prefers wool to darn the outline around platform of box.... I worried this would be sloppy but apparently not.... think just bought a ball of ‘baby pink baby wool’!?Again, lasted ages. Wool in so many colours you’ll find a perfect match for shoes!
  22. Good luck to those awaiting these & any other results! I hope all have had positive Upper School results & can make ideal choices for September! Stay safe & happy all! xx
  23. Simple kitchen routine...& wow what a kitchen! Forget body envy....I’ve got Aga envy 🤣
