  1. I believe, if it's like last year, then it's a letter. However they come out in batches, last year there were some offers/rejections/waiting lists the week after the audition (the Wednesday) however results were sent out in the 2 weeks following that, presumably waiting for rejections of the places to offer them to someone else? It took 3 weeks for my letter to arrive last year, hoping I don't have to wait as long this year! Good luck to everyone waiting x
  2. There's two auditions on Saturday, one starting at about 12.45 and one later in the afternoon and then 3 on Sunday I believe x
  3. Central final this year is 10 minute physio assessment, just ask you to go into a few positions and check things. 1 hr 15 ballet class to include pointe work (last year it was only a couple of exercises) and then a 40 minute Matthew bourne workshop instead of Dalcroze last year!
  4. I have 2 friends who have a final audition for RBS, one girl one boy yet the girl didn't get finals for ENBS?! X
  5. I know there's been a few Australian girls taking classes there for the past few weeks, one of whom has been offered a place there in September. She was also at Prix.

  7. Not sure about pointe shoe fittings but the lady at Ballet Pointe in Winchester is so lovely, I've spent hours chatting to her there! Maybe give them a ring to see what brands they've got?? X
  8. I did the dance day at Easter and the summer course with central and really enjoyed both, good mix of ballet/contemp/Pilates/rep etc. Happy to answer any other questions but would highly recommend! Xx
  9. I usually de shank my shoes (I find old freeds are the best) and then put them inside a sock each and put them through the washing machine which shrinks them a bit as well so they're not too big xx
  10. Seems odd that it's in September, hardly gives people returning back to school at the beginning of September a chance?!
  11. I wore a short black skirt to go with my leotard, it had a very thick waistband and was more akin to a very short skater skirt?!
  12. I auditioned for 6th form entry yesterday and thought Id just share a couple of things. The audition was pretty easy, no complicated steps or long exercises but nevertheless it was tiring, vocabulary of an Intermdiate standard. There was only 16 of us because it was an extra audition that day due to over subscription so we got through the class quickly - only an hour and twenty. No pointe work which I surprised about but also relieved as Id only taken one toe pad . Everyone was in very very simple leotards, I definately had the fanciest, turquoisey blue with a bit if of lace. Only thing I found odd was that the exercises started with the right hand on the barre and so I started the excersises facing a wall and my back to the panel?! Panel seemed quite friendly but did quite a lot of pointing and whispering. I found the flexability part hard just because I'm not that flexible and so for me, that part really let me down but the actual dancing was good! Very few of the girls actually used their faces very much, people were pretty nervous! Felt like it went pretty well but it's always difficult to tell! x
  13. I know RAD is taught at both Royal Conservatoire and Ballet West and I know first year students who have just taken or are about to take their Advanced One. Of course if you've not done an RAD exam you have to take Intermediate so some will be working both Intermediate just to get it done and Advanced One x
  14. Really?! I'm a small in plume and a petite/small in bloch, small in Capezio and and XS in wear moi x
  15. I know I'm 16 and not 11 but even in the past few years ive increased my dancing so much and found it really strenuous but I wouldn't have it any other way! I'm up at 6.15 and only get home at 9.45 almost every night, combine that with lots of homework, academic pressure, other musical ensembles and extra curricular, time to talk to friends and even family. It's so full on in waking hours but hopefully this year will be the last of this stress! x
  16. Yes, the two from balet west are beautiful and there was another girl from ballet west who made it into the classical semi finals. There's also a boy from Central who did the contemporary semi finals x
  17. Perhaps doesn't count as British as he's an international student but a boy from ENBS has been selected!
  18. Why is Aberdeen so far from everything...
  19. I would love to be able to keep classes going over Christmas, especially as we have 4 weeks off associates but my school doesn't do them for two weeks? How do people keep getting classes over Christmas??
  20. BW is such a good summer school but Ive travelled there myself twice now which hasn't been the easiest thing (one was because of train strikes and so here was a coach which wasn't planning to stop at Taynuilt and go straight to Oban but they had to stop specially for me). Once at Taynuilt, they're great for picking you up but for a non-native english speaker I think this would be difficult! Central tends to have quite a few tube changes from central london but fairly easy to navigate nevertheless BB
