  1. In relation to the topic at hand... [pun intended]
  2. Not quite sure what that has to do with the ladies' bathroom at the ROH. Please stay on topic.
  3. As a tax payer and a benefactor, I'd much rather the ROH didn't squander its money on hand cream.
  4. I've seen a couple of references to "mother/daughter" with respect to Natalya and Vera in Month. It is important to remember that Vera is Natalya's ward and there is an age difference of just 12 years, so it should be a very different relationship. It's a central tenet of the original play that Natalya sees Vera as a rival in matters of the heart.
  5. Due to a hand injury, Golding replaces Bolle as Des G in Manon on 29 October. ROH announcement.
  6. Time Out ticket offer for the Brandstrup/Scarlett/Wheeldon triple.
  7. By a coincidence, I've also been to a wedding in Dunblane (but in the RC church). I was, of course, bekilted (I have three) and, as you would expect, I thoroughly enjoyed the dancing - blowing my own trumpet, I was a sought-after partner!
  8. I understand it was set up in that manner for an event in the FH on Thursday. It was certainly back to "normal" yesterday evening.
  9. The plans will be up in the piazza link from next week for public feedback.
  10. The Met Opera do this. They put a clock up to tell the audience how long the proper interval is before the interviews start again.
  11. IMO the two reasons why there has been a problem for base level Friends getting SCS tickets are (i) the very strange decision a couple of years ago to allow all levels of Friends to buy 6 tickets per performance and (ii) a significant number of SCS tickets (10 IIRC) for each show being reserved for students.
  12. I didn't like it (or really understand it) either, but I do like your new picture!
  13. Wikipedia is hosting an editathon at the Royal Opera House on 25 October, with a view to improving the articles on MacMillan and his ballets. Further details can be found here.
  14. Aren't they the footmen from her coach? I assume the kissing is just naïve politeness (it is France, after all).
  15. Graham Spicer (@gramilano on twitter) has an article on the Ashton bill http://www.gramilano.com/2014/10/royal-ballet-celebrate-founding-choreographer-frederick-ashton/ that mentions some casting. Includes Crawford & Pajdak dancing the Brahms waltzes and Hayward debuting as Vera in MitC.
  16. Yes, he now has trousers and I thoroughly dislike them. They bunch around the knee and look out of place, particularly as the soldiers and other male "dancer" roles are in tights.
  17. There's already a full discussion on this here. Further discussion on that thread please.
  18. When I started ballet (in a class full of girls much younger than I was) I wore track suit bottoms and a t-shirt.
