  1. Pleased to see Calvert back on Aeternum after only doing 1 show last time.
  2. And we do in London too, particularly if someone looks lost or in need of help. Almost every time I'm going to ROH I point someone in the direction of the theatre they're after when looking very lost at the junction of Long Acre and Drury Lane. Having started talking to a confused looking lady with a stick on a bus, I was almost late for a show as I helped her to the bus stop she wanted for her onward journey (and then, much to the confusion of the driver and two other ballet-goers on the bus, onto the bus itself). The North doesn't have a monopoly on being nice.
  3. You may not be "speculating" but you are stoking the fire of a baseless and unfounded rumour. To put this to bed, Bennett confirmed to me last night that he has no plans to leave the RB at the end of this season.
  4. Soares replaced by Gartside as Leontes in The Winter's Tale. Link

  6. The quote was from 2011... Let's see what he actually does in the job and not prejudge.
  7. "The performance lasts about 2 hours 55 minutes, including two intervals. The Prologue and Act One will last for about 50 minutes, followed by a 30 minute interval. Act Two will last for about 40 minutes followed by a 25 minute interval. Act Three will last for about 25 minutes."
  8. I hope you're not suggesting it might be difficult to drag me away from drinkies tonight...
  9. There's a first night dinner, but the dress code is lounge suit/cocktail dress.
  10. I agree. I have suggested to ROH that those who already have an account should have the ability to disable the automatic inclusion of the donation through their preferences page.
  11. Well Kevin was asked the question and made two important points. First, going on tour is an option under each dancer's contract so it is up to them whether they want to go on a specific tour. Secondly, he thinks mixing culture and politics is a dangerous game that should be avoided. He also mentioned that the invitation to tour came from the Bolshoi, not the Russian government.
  12. And I wouldn't expect him to. If particular dancers don't wish to travel for any reason, it's not appropriate for the director of the company to make those names or reasons public. If the decision were made that the company should not travel, that would have to be made following discussions with a number of interested parties (including the FCO). As of last week, the tour is still on.
  13. I've edited the title to include the company name and avoid confusion with the David Essex song!
  14. I am sure the moderator(s) who is/are dealing with this (not me) will act accordingly once they have finished their deliberation.
  15. Just to be clear, the post was hidden as it was reported by a user who is not a moderator.
  16. It's not unusual. In those cases, the critics normally attend the evening performance.
  17. Time out offer for LAC at the Coliseum: https://uk-offers.timeout.com/deals/theatre-swan-lake?cid=TOL%7CDD%7CEM%7C_CTA%7Ctheatre-swan-lake%7C2014-03-28T20:24:00 I got two top price stalls tickets for BRB Pagodas at tkts this morning: £30 each.
  18. It's beside the small information desk by aisle A of the cloakroom. Those who follow me on twitter may have seen my selfie beside it!
  19. I have moved the original post to the existing thread here and locked this thread.
  20. Let's remember that quite a number of the current absences are due to illness, not injury.
