  1. The music is that originally composed for the Mother Ginger divertissement.
  2. Shushed the (overflowing into my seat) gentleman beside me at The Mikado tonight and he left after the next number! Not sure whether it was me or the (excellent but certainly not traditional) production wot done it.
  3. Unquestionably? There was an awful lot of benefactors' money pumped into Dpn Q, so I wouldn't be so sure!
  4. See my tweet sent seconds after the picture was taken
  5. All good until it came to "male ballerina". I believe "facepalm" is the relevant expression here.
  6. I got a ticket after being in the queue for 15 minutes (called at 1000 on the dot). Arena wise, there were only tickets available in the front two rows.
  7. In days of yore, a symphony orchestra played symphony concerts, usually comprising an overture, a concerto and a symphony. A philharmonic orchestra would play a more varied rep. The distinction isn't really there anymore.
  8. My understanding is that there will (but don't quote me on that).
  9. One of the reasons it's handy to have some florists here who used to be ballet dancers themselves... Also helps when one is ordering a basket of flowers to present to someone who has just performed Gamzatti!
  10. Offline from 1500 to 2200 tomorrow and don't believe what people who aren't involved might tell you.
  11. Dancers Career Development (DCD), a charity that assists dancers in transitioning into a new career post-dancing, have today launched their Boundless appeal. More details here.
  12. Cast changes for Alice: due to injury, Cuthbertson replaced by Lamb on 6(e), 10 and 16 (cinema) December and Choe on 23 December. "Casting for additional roles will be confirmed early next week." ROH
  13. They have no right to complain provided you are back before the house lights are dimmed.
  14. Watson tweeted last night that he'll be having an operation on his foot.
  15. I generally don't like to post about rehearsals but I have to say that Claire Calvert was simply stunning in the final Aeternum pd2 this afternoon. I'm still shaking!
  16. In relation to the topic at hand... [pun intended]
  17. Not quite sure what that has to do with the ladies' bathroom at the ROH. Please stay on topic.
  18. As a tax payer and a benefactor, I'd much rather the ROH didn't squander its money on hand cream.
  19. I've seen a couple of references to "mother/daughter" with respect to Natalya and Vera in Month. It is important to remember that Vera is Natalya's ward and there is an age difference of just 12 years, so it should be a very different relationship. It's a central tenet of the original play that Natalya sees Vera as a rival in matters of the heart.
