  1. So pleased that Ed Watson's full retirement as a principal is held over for him to do farewell performances in the role created for him in Danté's Inferno. Something for me to look forward to.
  2. Just watched Paw de Deux, Thanks Bruce. While a cat might not feel so cooperative in dancing with a human pretending to be a cat, a self-respecting cat would undoubtedly accept being Apollo, who is, after all, a god. 😺
  3. I have seen this production of Faust many times, and particularly remember the first one. The Royal Ballet lent them Eric Underwood for the lead dance role, and he wowed the opera audience, a superb performance. This setting of the ballet IMO works well in the context of this opera production, not to be considered as a standalone ballet interpretation of the music.
  4. And if you would like to donate part you could always take the refund then give back your chosen amount.
  5. The Royal Opera House has said it will be providing some free broadcasts. Watch its social media channels for info. And I will be telling them not to refund me my ticket money, make it a donation.
  6. Will be returning this to the box office next week unless spoken for in the meantime
  7. And, hurrah, Will Gompertz gives Lauren Cuthbertson the acknowledgement she deserves, "one of the finest dancers of her generation, gives a wonderfully nuanced and intelligent performance.
  8. Selling RB Onegin, Mon 24th Feb, balcony stand D33 £9 PM me if interested Margaret
  9. Selling Acosta Danza, Linbury, Sat 22nd Feb, Circle centre standing D22 £7. PM me if interested Margaret
  10. As far as the duel is concerned, and after way back when on first viewing I too wondered about ladies present and no seconds, I've provided myself with a side story. The girls have waylaid the protagonists on their way to the duel, then we see at the back of the stage just part of the field where the duel is taking place, the seconds are there too but to the side where we can't see them. 🙂
  11. ROH has recycling bins for their plastic beakers.
  12. Aisha and Abhaya, Rambert, Linbury 5th February, central Circle standing D22 £6 PM me if interested Margaret
  13. International Draft Works, Linbury 19th March, Stalls H1, £40 (I'm double-booked and choosing Traviata instead as also have Draft Works on 21st). PM me if interested Margaret
  14. And if someone wants to switch to Thursday evening 7.45pm I'm selling one in the stalls. See Ticket Exchange section
  15. Perhaps also, for access reasons, the lifts down to the main ladies loos need signage
  16. I seem to remember, tho' can't guarantee it (the memory, that is), being told something about the parts of the chandelier being used for the ones in the Crush Room?
  17. Saw this evenings Sleeping Beauty at the cinema, as a changevfom all the others I've seen this run at ROH. Sad that Lauren Cuthbertson was unable to dance, best wishes to her. However I totally enjoyed it, and thought all, yes all, the dancers were excellent.
  18. There is a box with your chosen date filter shown and an x to remove the date and get all.
  19. The Guadian decided to send their dance and stage critics to see the film. See today's links. Both enjoyed it, thought the film critics were wrong.
  20. "The Sound of Movie Musicals" episode 1 of 3 was on BBC4 this evening 26th Dec, assume it'll be on iPlayer. About 3/4 hour in, got to Fred Astaire and had interview including tap demonstrations with Stephen McCrae. Lot more dance as well. I intend to watch episodes 2 and 3 on 27th and 28th.
  21. Yes, it was indeed Francesca singing. I took my son to see the stage show of Cats for his 10th birthday outing. He has just taken me to the film for a 75th birthday outing. We both enjoyed it.
  22. And Marcelino Sambé posted on instagram that that means four of the men from his school year are now Principals.
  23. Alison, no apology needed. Whoever did what to it to allow hide/reveal following my "look away now" comment, brilliant, thank you 🙂
  24. I attended an insight with the props department when they were preparing this production, began in the Clore then moved up to their workshops. That large section at the back of the Lilac Fairy's vehicle (look away now if you don't want to know the answer) is
  25. The latest clip on the romeoandjulietfilm instagram stops just too soon for me to be able to see if Tybalt caught the apple Mercutio threw! 🤔😁
