  1. It's a serum used to protect and moisturise the hair. My daughter finds it a little too greasy to use by itself but it does work well when mixed with the conditioner. You can get it in most supermarkets now and lots of shampoos and conditioners contain it too. Theses are the products we use but there's an almost overwhelming range to choose from now! http://www.boots.com/en/OGX-Renewing-Moroccan-Argan-Oil-Penetrating-Oil-100ml_1274124/ http://www.boots.com/en/OGX-Renewing-Moroccan-Argan-Oil-Shampoo-385ml_1222268/ X
  2. My dd has fine curly hair. Our hairdresser suggested mixing Moroccan oil with ordinary conditioner to make an intensive mask that we leave on for a few hours. Seems to work!
  3. There has just been a post on their Facebook page announcing the release of some extra tickets.
  4. This car park is right opposite the BRB studios! http://www.gallangroup.com/parking/thorpstreet/index.html We used to park on Lower Essex Street using the parking meters and walk up which took about 10 minutes. Later, a friend told us about the free parking on Great Colmore Street (off the main A38 Bristol Road by the Ibis, opposite Dancique) which takes about 15 mins but does include a rather grim subway!
  5. I came across this NHS document stating the vaccination is to be offered to all children in school years 9 to 13. https://www.royalholloway.ac.uk/ecampus/documents/pdf/healthcentre/phemenwleafelt2015.pdf
  6. Just to add that it isn't possible to do Monday to Friday at Elmhurst (other than in the first term of year 7) due to RAD classes on a Saturday morning, which are officially optional but almost everyone takes them as encouraged by school. But many children if they live locally enough do go home for the weekend after that, including my dd although it means just over 24 hours at home! Good luck x
  7. Thank you anaballerina so she'll be inter do you think? Good to hear such positive feedback, she's looking forward to it if a bit apprehensive xx
  8. My daughter (14) is doing OPES week 2 also for the first time following recommendations on this fabulous forum! She knows a couple of boys going but no girls so good to know some ballet co-ers will be there. Does anyone know how classes are arranged?
  9. I watched on Friday but can't give any informed opinions due to my lack of ballet knowledge! But I did think it was a lovely snapshot of the week and the PDDs were stunning!
  10. Don't worry Happymum you will be able to stay and help dd decorate her room. We used to laugh and call it the 60 minute makeover as that was how long you were officially given (but they aren't that strict!) have also sent you a pm x
  11. Anything useful on here? http://boysdoballet.blogspot.co.uk
  12. Our year 9s have all different makes of soft ballet shoes, demi pointe and pointes - they soon get to know which ones they like and which best suit their feet! No issues with having different brands x
  13. Page 8 of the RBS annual report gives you a breakdown of figures for each centre for the last academic year x http://www.royalballetschool.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/RBS_AnnualReport_spreads_1314.pdf
  14. I'm looking to buy a preloved Elmhurst Flamenco skirt. My dd is tall (5ft 6) and size 6 -8. Also still looking for a ladies small formal skirt. Thanks!
  15. I guess it depends on the organisers but my daughter did a festival 5 years ago with her (nearly repaired) broken arm in a soft cast (and part of her JA audition in a removable cast!!)
  16. When we were Birmingham JAs (4 years ago now) boys and girls were taught in the same class. May have changed now though of course x
  17. Hi swan princess and Hairbelles just to show what a complete ballet novice I am (even after several years as a ballet mom!) dd informs me she is advanced foundation not advanced 1! Sorry to mess you about SP and hope your daughter enjoys the DVDs Hairbelles! X
  18. Thanks swan princess I'll just need to check my daughter wants the DVD as opposed to the download which I hear can be problematic! I'll be back in touch tomorrow evening if that's ok x
  19. Are you selling them together swan princess? I would be interested in the new syllabus if you are willing to split them x
  20. Hi Suyzsue (I think we may know each other!) Its a monthly associate class based in Stoke - there doesn't seem to be an audition needed. I don't have any personal experience but when it was mentioned on here I did a quick search which threw up their Facebook page. From here you can request their website (?) and book online for sessions, split into 8 - 11 years (one and a half hours) and 12+ (two hours) both on a Sunday. X
  21. Has anyone got an Elmhurst formal skirt child's size 3 for sale? Many thanks
  22. Just a thought but are there any 'instructional' dvds out there that are age appropriate? When my dd was very little, she absolutely loved 'How to be a Ballet dancer' and even now at 14 won't get rid of it for sentimental reasons!
  23. The bistro at school is open for a brief period for parents to buy hot drinks during the Saturday mornings except for when the full time students are on leave out
