This was the first time I had seen La Sylphide, it is a ballet I have wanted to see for some time and I was not disappointed.

I loved the SFBallet gala. What a season they have given us, I had no idea they were so very good.

Of the long Ballets I have watched "Creole Giselle" by Dance Theatre of Harlem has been the most exciting for me.

I think it's both. I find it restful and somehow it feeds my spirit by looking at the moment and shapes that flow with the music. If I watch a full length at home I tend to break it down into sections.

I decided not to feel guilty that I couldn't watch everything and strangely enough I found that at this time I am only watching short non story ballets, not sure why. It has been wonderful to see so many works that are new to me and from places I might never have gone. I hope that ballet companies take note and keep streaming their work, for proper money of course. I am very appreciative of all the suggestions here. This forum and ballet has been a life line for me, and the general niceness of people with opinions expressed but no name calling etc, so THANK YOU one and all.

I really liked LOUIS STIENS'S MESSENGER from the Stuttgart Ballet, it's streaming until June 28th, 22:00 h (CET) 'Louis Stiens's choreography is adventurous and raw and defies characterisation. In Messenger he explores the dynamics between a messenger/prophet/harbinger of change and a community which at times embraces, at times rejects the newcomer. Stiens’ one-act ballet is a compelling study set to Czech composer Ondřej Adámek’s orchestral work Follow me.'

I bought it this morning (Sunday) and I think I will be watching Vadim every day for the next 2 weeks.

I worked out that I needed a new account! As I am dyslexic I often don't take in all the information on a long email. However, all is good now and I have just seen the wonderful Vadim dance, I was nearly crying it was so emotional to see him on the stage of ROH. I can only wish for more ballet on these evenings.

Back in March, we were rehearsing a new production in Senegal with Pina Bausch Foundation and Ecole des Sables. 38 dancers from 14 African countries had come together to revive a masterpiece as it had never been seen before – Pina Bausch's The Rite of Spring, created in 1975. It was going to be incredible. When Covid-19 forced the world into lockdown, we had to halt rehearsals and cancel performances. But before the lockdown rules came into effect the company had time for one last rehearsal. On the beach. In Toubab Dialaw, Senegal. At dusk. Set to Stravinsky's rousing music. Luckily a filmmaker captured the whole thing on camera.
