    We were expecting all the uppers to be in one class together but seems there were definitely more than the 30 students. I saw some beautiful dancers but yes the hard times do now begin as you say just dance!

    Good luck to your dd. Did they say how long you would have to wait to hear snd did the audition last all day? Is it mainly contemporary dancing, any ballet at all? Thsnks

    Have the statistics from wl been like that for a while though? Or did many more used to get a place at upper? It seems that it is just so hard for the uk to compete with the international whom most seem to be home schooled and train for much longer hours. We still place great value on education here with most training just after school hours. I think most people are very realistic and have a back up plan/other options.

    That is really sad for the uk dancers. I feel really sorry for those on the sa programme travelling the country each weekend most of which I’m sure are desperate that the extra training from the rbs will help them make it.

    Hi, do we know if any girls not from wl were offered places? Surely there were some senior associates there too? My dd knew of one sa girl who she felt was definitely worthy of a place!

    Have all results come out for upper school for rbs yet from the Sunday audition?

    I know rbs upper results are out for the wl girls and boys but are they also out now for the others that attended Sunday audition?

    Thanks pups mum! It’s so hard isn’t it. I just think dadas should also be awarded on talent and income shouldn’t be the factor that totally decides if you qualify. She would love some to go to some of the schools ( if offered) but seems she won’t be a able to unless like said a bursary is offered!

    Hi Pictures. Thanks for the reply. Its really good you managed to find a way to make it all work. We already budget really carefully but already know by the time mortgage, council tax, utilities, food etc is paid there is no where enough to pay the 2400 a month that would be required to attend say ENB, Elmhurst etc. Maybe people are able to do it because of savings, shame the dada/mds Dont take that into account.

    I’m sure I can’t be the only one in this predicament or at least hope not. Re classical ballet, even if my child was fortunate enough to be offered a dada for an upper schools, we are that borderline on the scale it wouldn’t count for anything. At the same point our monthly income does not leave anywhere near enough to pay full fees of 27k + a year which most schools are . I can’t get my head around the jump in fees and how we are supposed to be able to pay full fees. The only option would be an mds which only one school offers. Also these private establishments do not allow student loans to be taken out. Can anyone suggest anything please or the route they have gone down. Any advice greatly appreciated.
