I recall getting my first passport so at that time it was when you were 16 and I was 5’3. I spent the next three to four years saying I was that height until someone questioned me and said I was definitely taller so tape measure out and I had grown to just short of 5’6”! Don’t give up hope.

Great to hear there is a new week. How are they working this? If applications open on Monday does it mean you have to apply for this week or are you automatically considered?
-
They are accepting applications until 1st March so I understood from speaking to the office that results would come out after that time but as tutugirl has confirmed the scholarship auditions would be a few weeks before.

ENB LONDON CASTING FOR SWAN LAKE JANUARY 2019
junedancer replied to capybara's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
He also caught my attention at the PDL and is most definitely someone to look out for. I picked him out from the first round classes as a potential winner - not that I know about anything about ballet other than what I like to watch!- 43 replies

RBS Nutcracker tonight 5th January - wanted 🙏
junedancer replied to junedancer's topic in Ticket Exchange & Special Offers
False alarm - feeling really stupid - I had already bought enough tickets but hadn’t realised I was sent a further email with all of my tickets and not a separate one with the new ticket. Can’t cope with e-tickets! 🤣 -
Thanks Peanut68. I have submitted an application and fingers are crossed.

Thanks Sunrise81. Does anyone know how likely you are to get a place and how would people rate it? DD met someone who went a few few years ago. They are a really experienced dancer and at that time entering and winning competitions. She is too shy to ask the girl for information so hoping someone here can shed some light before we attempt the photos - never my strong point!

Does anyone know how much the application fee is? I can't see it on the web site. Thank you.

Royal Ballet School - spring intensive and summer school 2019
junedancer replied to Mouseys mum's topic in Doing Dance
Good news for those waiting. In previous years the whole process was later and the wait longer so looks like they are at least getting better organised under the new head for intensives.- 119 replies

Royal Ballet School - spring intensive and summer school 2019
junedancer replied to Mouseys mum's topic in Doing Dance
This year's deadline is two months earlier than in previous years so maybe they haven't received as many applications as expected. At £32 an application I am sure they have a budget projection for this, or am I being cynical?- 119 replies

junedancer replied to Mouseys mum's topic in Doing Dance
For all those hoping to hear back about the Summer Intensive before Christmas it looks like the wait will be into 2019. RBS have just announced that they are extending the deadline from today to 2nd December.- 119 replies

We have an off cut of this type of flooring and it is basically a non-slip linoleum - it the same as the flooring you might get in a studio just not stuck down - so should be fine for pirouettes and pointe. As noted by DancingShoes it will depend on the carpet and also the actually flooring you buy as some of them - the non-flexible ones - are more rigid so the carpet wouldn't impact as much. DD's friend has a solid board for tap that sits on carpet but not sure what it would do for the carpet.

Which RAD grade for a 6 year old beginner?
junedancer replied to invisiblecircus's topic in Doing Dance
If the teacher is happy with her in the class then this seems sensible and better than her dancing with younger children. There is no requirement to have done any of the grades as a pre-requisite until you get to the vocation grades. Grade 1 for a six year old is probably the average as the youngest you can sit the actual exam is age 7. -
Ballet Boost do an audition prep day for two age groups in the half term holiday but as noted by @Picturesinthefirelight not all schools have the same week.

Good idea - think we may well adopt that as the bag DD uses seems to have dance wear and shoes for every type of dance regardless of what class she is going to!
