  1. Last year the letters came out in the same order as the auditions were taken, so if yesterday was Monday's results today should see Tuesday's results out. Obviously it's all dependant on how efficient your delivery service is but as a general rule of thumb it should go in order!
  2. Shygirlsmum I'm so sorry to hear what a rotten time your dd is having, my heart really goes out to you as we have been in a very similar situation and I know how hard it is to deal with, especially when the child's mother is a friend. Have you tried to bring the girls together? When we had a problem dd's teacher gave the girls a duet together to make them learn to work together and be a team, we had sleepovers and encouraged a friendship and gradually things improved, although there will forever be a clash of personalities between the two girls, but they do have a very close friendship now. Best of luck to you all and I hope that your daughter doesn't have to suffer more nastiness.
  3. Great result Balletmum20, and best of luck for funding audition!! Luckily the funding audition isn't as long as the preliminary audition so not as much hanging around ????
  4. Thanks Busymum, will pass that on to my friend ????
  5. Just wondering if anyone happens to know the date for trings funding auditions as its not on the website? Thanks
  6. That's how I read it too primrose, it just doesn't say where she went before the Hammond.
  7. Well done to all those with a yes, very exciting times xx
  8. Yes the Hammond, I read something that said she went to ballet school but left because her teachers kept telling her she was too fat to be a dancer, it then went on to say that she went to the Hammond. But it was confusing as I couldn't figure out whether the ballet school was The Hammond or if the ballet school was somewhere else and then she went the Hammond. Either way it's very sad to hear her speak of teachers telling her she was fat and crying in the toilets!!
  9. Congratulations balletmum20 and best of luck with the funding audition xx
  10. We went for lunch in Aylesbury and then a walk round Tring garden centre when we were there last year xx
  11. When I received my dd's offer of a place at Tring with the opportunity of a funding audition we could either pay the non returnable deposit to secure our place, by which you were agreeing that you could afford the full fee's if no funding was offered or you could not pay the fee which meant that you would only accept the place if funding was offered. And Piccolo I have no ide, but I doubt it as by paying the fee you are basically saying you will accept your place with or without funding, so they know that you can afford to go regardless.
  12. I find it ridiculous that Tring and Hammond ask for such a large registration fee before the funding audition as many who need MDS can't afford to pay the fee, let alone pay the fee to the find out they didn't secure funding, being as the fee is none refundable!! Big risk to those who know they can't afford the fee's if not offered MDS!
  13. The new link does work thanks ???? I've now completed the survey too.
  14. Congratulations to the yeses, i remember the wait last year and the joy of telling dd when I went to collect her from school and commiserations to the no's and just remember it's only a no for now....onward and upward and use the experience to grow xx
  15. Thank you gowiththeflo and if it were me I would go with legs and feet, but that's just me and I know nothing about dance lol good look deciding ????
  16. Gowiththeflo I would just pick whichever one you prefer, my DD's JA teacher told us that it really isn't a big deal and parents get too worked up over the photos, and they are just a point of reference when discussing auditionees after the audition, to help them remember the child, so on this advice I took my dd's photos in my living room on my own without help of a teacher to position her (and I have no dance experience what so ever) and my dd auditioned at 3 of the top 4 schools and was offered finals for all 3 and a place at 1 of the school, so I honestly think that as long as they are a fair representation of the child then it doesn't really matter.....SS photos maybe a little more important being as they don't audition though. Anyway this is just my opinion and experience but hope it helps ????
  17. I think that anything that raises awareness of the dangers of over stretching in dancers can only be a good thing, my dd doesn't have Facebook but she does have Instagram and follows a lot of dance pages and there are literally hundreds of pictures posted everyday of young girls doing these extreme positions and stretches. My dd is quite flexible and I do worry that she will be tempted to copy them, but I am lucky that she's very sensible and knows to only do the stretches her teachers have taught her. And pups_mum I agree totally with you about the adult professionals, as my daughter follows a lot of ballet companies that post photos also, yet it's different as she understands that these are adults who have trained their whole lives whereas the photos of youngsters could be looked at as "that's the competition" with the girls comparing themselves to their peers!! I hope parents out there encourage their young dancers to trust their teachers who know how to build up, strengthen and prepare the body to cope with the strains dancing has on a young body.
  18. What a shame Alison, it would be wonderful for the kids to be able to practice at home to the music of a pianist that they know and are familiar with their playing, lovely idea!!
  19. Anna C it's mainly exercises/routines and stretches given as homework from teachers. Thank you both I will check out your recommendations ????
  20. Can anyone recommend any good CD's or music on iTunes/YouTube for my dd to practice at home to please?? She currently just searches on YouTube but mainly only comes up with the big famous tracks and as much as she enjoys them she would like some songs that are more like what is played in class, thanks ????
  21. Just tried again and it keeps telling me that question 1 needs an answer even though I have answered it??
