Same here happygirl although my daughters been dancing for 4 years we are still very new to the ballet scene and didn't even know associate schemes ran until her teacher asked us to audition her! I wish you the best of luck for your daughters outcome x

Good point happymum although I wish you hadn't made it as now I'll be checking my email every 5 mins lol no to be honest we don't have high hope, the odds are slim for all who audition with such high numbers for so few places, so we've just looked at it as a chance to do a RBS class and a bit of audition experience to help dd get used to it, still good luck to everyone still waiting like us

A glossary would be great!! Lol, I assume I know what a lot of them mean but I could be wrong so I tend to just ask if I'm unsure. My daughter has only really got into Ballet over the last year or so and I've only been a part of the forum for about a week so I have a lot to learn!! Thanks for that

Balletsister, what do you mean by flat turnout? I've heard of turnout but not flat? Sorry if being a little dumb lol x

Does anyone know roughly how many places are on offer for each year group? Or does it change each year? When my daughter auditioned they told us there were 900 girls auditioning this year!

Thank you spanner, I only found the site last week and have been reading like mad ever since, there is a LOT of helpful advice on here! I'm glad I stumbled across it when I was doing an online search for associate classes, I need as much help as I can get hehe

My daughter came out a little upset which is not like her at all! She said it went ok although she didn't get her splits in class and that really shocked her as she has good legs but she has been ill for a couple of weeks and been off dance so I explained she just has to get her body back into it, bless her, they worry about every little thing lol but she really liked the teachers and said everyone was really friendly and nice and she enjoyed all the little dances they done. I think they worked them hard cause there were lots of little flushed faces I hope your daughters done well xx
