  1. The only yes so far is tutugirls male student I think Aklf, I think all the others have been waiting list!!
  2. Thank you Amos and When we were waiting for Elmhurst results they had done a typo and sent it to the wrong address!! So hopefully it's nothing like that and it's just our post is a little slower and will arrive Monday.....I hope!! And yes those odds do seem better!! Just think in a few weeks it will all be over and we will know our dd's fates (for this year at least)
  3. I was just about to say that the odds are surely better at Elmhurst or Royal but I suppose we can't really tell as we don't know exactly how many of the 60 at Tring were for year 7 and how many year 7 places were actually available, whereas at White Lodge we know that they usually take roughly 30-40 year 7's with around 12/13 places being available. But still the odds aren't too bad so best of luck to her ????
  4. Aww glad she's took it well and she must be a fabulous little dancer and i will keep my fingers crossed for Elmhurst for her!! And no we still haven't heard!! Don't know what's going on this year I seem to always be the last to know!!
  5. Sorry to hear this Amos and I hope dd took the news okay!! And best of luck to her going forward with her other finals!! And remember everyone our dc have done amazing, they secured a place at a much converted school and it's only the funding they haven't secured, but with odds of 1 in 10 there was always going to be a lot more no letters going out!! They have all done exceptionally well and I wish everyone with finals still to come the very best of luck! ????
  6. Huh, that's a great question balletqueen and I have no idea?? They never mentioned that, or whether they had spaces in years other than year 7 so I don't know how that would work?? So many questions that I guess we will never known the answer to!!
  7. . Only the very best are offered funding, so if you are good and they like you then they can offer you an unfunded place, but if you are really good and they really like you then they will offer you a place and invite you to audition for funing....or this is at least how it was explained to me.
  8. I would imagine any future Darcy's would be a priority, no matter their personal situation! I'm sure a funded place would be earmarked for them from the moment they were spotted!! Just my opinion and no idea if this is how it works but I would imagine this would be the case anyhow.
  9. I have no idea pictures, but even the deposit is a pretty large loss, especially for someone that needs the support of funding in the first place!
  10. Yes Harwel they did say more spaces may become available come May. And you can't blame them for wanting pupils who really want to be there, I imagine the mind set of a child would be different if they were at their first choice school compared to a school which wasn't top of their list maybe?!
  11. Good question especially for those with finals at Hammond as their funding audition isn't till 18th April!!
  12. No news for us yet!! Well done to all the yes' and commiserations to the no's, but remember it's only a no for now and places do come up off the reserve list!! We were told at the audition that 60 children were at the funding auditions and they list them all from 1-60 so every child will be on the reserve list of not offered a place, so if you were number 7 and someone turned down their place you would be the first to be offered the place, then number 8 and so on! Good luck to those with other finals still to come
  13. Noooo!! I think I'd rather not know!! Haha
  14. If they follow suit from last year then they would be posting the letters today!!! Lets hope so, put us out of our misery sooner rather than later
  15. Just to add that when I say "I read it on here" I didn't mean on this thread, it was last year and the thread titled.... Tring lower school dance audition date through!!!!!....some interesting reading on the last few pages, I'm not sure how much is speculation and how much is fact but interesting none the less.
  16. Good question and i have no idea?? The only thing I know that kind of links to your question is that last year (and I should add that I don't know this personally, it was something I have read on here and also another mom also told me the same story) Tring had filled all the year 7 beds with fee paying dc, meaning at funding audition they had no spaces available for boarding year 7 as they had already filled all the beds. Now whether this is true or not I couldnt possibly say, but it does make you wonder whether even if not true, could it actually happen?? As when you get the first letter you can pay your registration fee to secure your bed and commit to funding the place yourself, so if they had enough people do that would they then offer these people funding or just let them pay for themselves and use the funding for other years? Or for pupils already at the school who need funding? But like everything else, we'll never know how it all works but if does make for interesting pondering lol
  17. Yes she is for your 8 and like you not holding out on much hope. Good luck to your dd also!! The letter last year was lovely, it tells you how much of an achievement it was to be considered for funding and how talented that makes your child and how they would love to give everyone at the audition funding. It also explains about the waiting list. I must say it really is a nicely worded letter and I think their aim is to soften the blow, and I think it does as its not just a...."sorry but it's a no" letter and it feels a bit more personal. Of well I guess there will be 54 of them going out this year!! Edited for typo!
  18. No problem balletqueen, I guess we'll all be stalking the postman for the next few days now
  19. Just been and checked last years letters and Tring funding audition was on 11th and the post mark on the results letter was 13th so I really doubt it will be 2-3 weeks, more likely 2-3 days if anything like last year!! And letter was by post not email
  20. You only pay the registration fee if you are actually accepting your place, regardless of funding outcome. In other words you only pay the fee if you can afford to pay for your place if funding is not offered. If you are not able to accept your place without the help of funding then you don't pay the registration fee. I think all the auditions were mixed years, not sure how many for each year?? But would assume there would be more for year 7, just a guess though.
  21. Baeballet I think you'll find this forum extremely welcoming and helpful! I have learnt a lot since joining and had a lot of support from the other members. Feel free to ask any questions you may have as there always seems to be someone that can help. Huge congratulations to your dd and welcome to the forum
  22. Thanks Amos, I'm useless aren't I, you'd think I'd remember from last year
  23. Amos we haven't heard anything from Tring either!
  24. Aww what a heartwarming story Ballet4boyz and you must be incredibly proud of him!! And what strength of character he must have to persevere and get well enough to progress from wheelchair to dance class, wow what an inspiration he is!! Wishing you all the best of luck for his finals and I hope his dreams come true!!
